In comments that she quipped might constitute “professional suicide,” CBS News Foreign Correspondent, or more specifically ex-CBS News correspondent, Lara Logan told a podcaster that the media is mostly liberal, which should come as no surprise to anyone who is paying attention. It’s unusual, though, that someone employed in the mainstream media would admit to the rampant bias. According to Variety, Logan and CBS supposedly parted ways sometime last year, so maybe that has something to do with her candor. Logan did not mention that she was no longer employed by the network during the interview, however. See the video embedded below.
In the interview with retired Navy SEAL Mike Ritland on the “Mike Drop” podcast, Logan launched into a long monologue about how the historically left-leaning media’s prevailing dominant ideology shapes distorted reporting, including 24-7, anti-Trump coverage.
“The media everywhere is mostly liberal, not just in the U.S. But in this country, 85 percent of journalists are registered Democrats.”
She added that ideologically driven media has abandoned even the pretext of objectivity and has devolved into left-wing political activists or propagandists, resulting in poorly sourced “horsh*t coverage.”
Lara Logan has a 30-year tenure in the media. Whether CBS retroactively fired Logan is just speculation at this point. Check back for updates.
The media bias discussion, during which the interviewer for some reason felt the need to drop F-bombs, starts at about the 2:16 mark.
In a subsequent interview (with Hannity), Lara Logan says that the left has targeted her since speaking out against media bias:
