Several months ago, about 50 heavily armed cops temporarily shut down the Dr. Farrah Agustin-Bunch Natural Medical Center in the Philippines. That country’s Food and Drug Administration, without granting any due process, apparently authorized the raid.

Dr. Agustin-Bunch’s clinic, which does not charge patients for consultations, purports to have successfully treated many cancer patients with an alternative health regimen.

At the time of the raid, Dr. Farrah, her family, and some patients were receiving death threats, according this video clip.

Authorities apparently have also charged the licensed medical doctor with the unauthorized selling of pharmaceutical drugs even though the clinic distributes only natural, plant-based compounds, and the paperwork violations, if any, were technical.

Dr. Agustin-Bunch, who says she gravitated toward natural medicine when it was efficacious in treating her own family, is fighting back against Big Pharma’s Deep State with all the legal means at her disposable as well as with an extensive social media presence.

Pills for Profit

In an essay posted to her website, the doctor wrote the following:

“I will never stop fighting against Big Pharma and Big Medicine or their cronies in government. Filipinos deserve the best healthcare in the world and I will continue to fight for my patients against these multinational drug companies, bloated hospitals and antiquated medical societies struggling for relevance….”

In a lengthy open letter to Philippines President Duterte, Dr. Farrah Agustin-Bunch explained, in part…

“The Philippines healthcare system is in terrible distress Mr. President and profit is at the center of the rotten apple…The healthcare business needs sick people to survive Mr. President and does not concern itself with maintaining a healthy population. Healthy people are ‘bad for business’ when it comes to pharmaceuticals…The pursuit of truth in modern medicine is obscured by greed, profit and power…Today, medical doctors are selling their name, dignity and credibility for a free lunch from Pharmaceutical companies. I vocally object to this and am one of many medical heretics who demand patient centered care instead of profit centered care. Being a doctor is not about how many patients I can see, but how many I can see and care for very well…I humbly ask Mr. President that you begin an investigation into the actions of FDA Director General Charade Puno regarding the oppressive overkill used in my situation…”

With appropriate due diligence, health care is — or should be — a highly personal, private, and sensitive matter, especially when it comes to serious illnesses.

In the U.S., the FDA, Big Pharma, and other government regulatory agencies, collectively the medical establishment, in general have also often sought to discredit holistic health practices roughly similar, but in an entirely different context, to perhaps how the federal Deep State political establishment is carrying out a vendetta against U.S. President Donald Trump.

Parenthetically, in the past, similar raids at alternative health facilities have occurred in this country from time to time.

Obviously there is no one panacea when it comes to health challenges.  Millions of Americans, however, have obtained good results with reputable alternative and/or mind/body health options, including but not limited to, herbal medicine, chiropractic, and nutritional supplementation, as an adjunct to conventional western medicine.

Allopathic and Alternative Medicine

As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

A combination of conventional (allopathic) and alternative modalities may often be beneficial depending on the circumstances, but you should always seek the advice and guidance from a trained healthcare professional.

When it comes to supplements, there are some products on the market that contain substandard ingredients and/or don’t live up to the hype.

Other such products have turned out to be effective and safe according to proponents, including complimentary physicians.

This, for example, despite the prescription-drug-loving mainstream media’s eagerness to headline any study, usually underwritten by Big Pharma, that trashes a particular vitamin or supplement.

As an aside, even the ubiquitous TV commercials — from which the networks make a fortune — promoting the wonders of pharmaceutical drugs acknowledge the nasty side effects of these meds.
