Jessica Tarlov is probably a very nice person off camera, but her appearances on the popular Fox News ensemble program The Five are becoming increasingly tiresome.
In recent broadcast, she claimed that the DOGE initiative is becoming unpopular because a Republican congressman was heckled during a town hall, a scenario that have been replicated elsewhere.
Regardless of whether you’re a fan of the GOP, common sense immediately suggested that paid agitators were showing up at these venues, a phenomenon which is hardly reflective of supposed eroding public support for rooting out fraud, waste, and abuse in government.
Raise your hand if you think this woman is a dingbat and is one of the reasons you stopped watching @FoxNews

It indeed turns out that powers of reasoning, rather than political punditry, should indeed have been applied.
From the Washington Fee Beacon:
“..Well-funded liberal organizations organized many of [the protests]. The George Soros-funded groups Indivisible and MoveOn were at the center of the demonstrations. Both groups launched national “mobilization” efforts targeting the “Trump-Musk agenda” and “Trump-Musk coup” during the recess period. MoveOn said its “members and allies will show up at congressional-led town halls and congressional offices around the country, targeting House Republicans whose votes will be crucial in opposing Trump and Musk’s harmful policies.” The groups’ local organizers heeded the call, launching protests against House Republicans at town halls and district offices that garnered widespread media coverage…
On Tuesday’s broadcast, The Five crew roasted Tarlov for pushing this misleading narrative. She wasn’t there, though; instead, fake moderate Harold Ford Jr. was present in the liberal chair.
As viewers are aware, this is not the first time, obviously, that Tarlov spouted nonsense or engaged in metaphorical straws-grasping, so you have to wonder if she’s dumb or duplicitous.

Apart from questioning what Tarlov actually brings to the TV table, the liberal chair on The Five has a less-than-stellar legacy.
For example, former free-speech champion Juan Williams became wholly irrational after joining the show as a regular, and Geraldo Rivera, who is or was reasonable on some issues, similarly became unglued on The Five set during his tenure.
Ford Jr. is just passive-aggressive — so far.
Maybe (like the rent-a mobs at town halls and congressional offices), it’s all just performative like a lot of what goes on in the pay-for-play media.
As an aside, Democrats’ sudden aversion to “oligarchs” like Elon Musk is another instance of far-left projection.
As Scott Jennings said (while the rest of the panel was overtalking him) on CNN, “George Soros collects [Dems] like Pokemon cards.”
