As #OPNation (i.e., the show’s avid followers) is well aware, and for those viewers and/or social media users new to the program, On Patrol Live on Reelz is more or less a reboot or rebrand of Live PD.

Updates from Friday Night

  • Update on the Toledo pursuit with Officer Kaleb Torbet:

On Patrol: Live Tonight

A pursuit in Richland County, a train vs. car crash in Berkeley County, and a series of generally quirky or confusing incidents that were mostly left unresolved within the confines of this episode are among the highlights of tonight’s show. Note: On Patrol: Live paid tribute to Beech Grove, Ind., Officer Brian Elliott during Friday night’s episode.

In this On Patrol: Live episode guide, see below for details on all 24 law enforcement encounters across 10 On Patrol: Live scheduled police agencies on the current roster (although Hazen, Ark., PD, did not appear).

On Patrol: Live Recap for February 21, 2026 (#OPL Episode 04-56)

OPL_stats-02_21_26
  • Richland County, S.C. On Patrol: Live caption: “Fleeing vehicle.” Deputy Toddson Catoe initiates a traffic stop at gunpoint after the vehicle slow-rolls into an apartment complex. The vehicle allegedly ran a red light. The driver allegedly exits the vehicle with an open container. Car search. Master Deputy Collins Harper arrests the motorist after field sobriety testing. On Patrol: Live caption: “Suspect in custody.”
  • Toledo, OhioOn Patrol: Live captions: “Possible knife fight,” “Investigating knife fight.” According to OPL host Dan Abrams, a teenager is suspected of pulling a knife. Officers John Sawicki and Kaleb Torbet are on scene and make contact with an adult female who is apparently the complainant. Officer Torbet also has a conversation with a stepdad of a teen and explains to him the importance of calming things down before anyone gets hurt and arrests occur. Officer Sawicki summary: “So as of right now, sounds like her daughter and somebody else were getting into an argument, wanting to fight. Mom came out, tried to intercept him. Individuals said he…was making comments, threatening her, ended up pulling out of knife. Supposedly they live right here. So we’ll see if we can make contact with them, go from there.”

Listen below to a portion of Officer Torbet’s conversation with the dad (“…we keep getting called out here for kids fighting and kids acting a fool…we can’t have this…it’s not even summertime yet…if this continues…we’re gonna load up the paddy wagon with all these kids…):

Abrams: “Some sound advice there from Officer Torbet.”

  • Lee County, Fla.On Patrol: Live caption: “Investigating hit and run.” Deputy Mackenzie Green makes contact with the motorist who describes what allegedly happened in the incident. On Patrol: Live caption: “All in the family.” A K9 deputy is also on scene.

Abrams: “So that’s a really weird hit-and-run report. His mom hits him once with her car and then his brother hits him again with his car.”

  • Baton Rouge, La.On Patrol: Live caption: “Catching up to pursuit.” Sergeant Jordon Lear provides backup on a traffic stop at gunpoint outside a motel. Two occupants. Alleged odor of weed. Car search. A wad of cash allegedly found. On Patrol: Live caption: “Loose change…ish.” Cops also find a gun, according to Sgt. Lear, “lubricated by weed.” Officer Charleston Armstrong, Corporal Wendy George, and Officer Anthony Nguyen are also on scene.

Listen below to Officer Nguyen describe the alleged circumstances the led to the stop followed by then some brief comments from Sgt. Lear:

  • Daytona Beach, Fla. — While on scene at an accident, Lieutenant Richie Maher spots two separate vehicles with New Jersey plates that allegedly ran a stop sign. Lt. Maher’s good-natured banter with the motorists: “We’re working this crash here. You got to stop behind that white bar for the stop sign, especially when the cops are literally standing right there, just because I don’t want to see any of my guts get squished…so is this a Jersey thing? Like, are stop signs optional in Jersey?” On Patrol: Live caption: “Garden State guest.” After friendly conversations during which Lt. Maher reveals he’s originally from the part of New York that’s near the New Jersey border, both motorists are apparently released with a warning.

Lt. Maher: “So these cars don’t know each other. They’re both from North Jersey. They’re not doing any service for all the rumors about Jersey drivers apparently are true. Growing up in New York, I can attest that is true…” Abrams: “Tom Rizzo, is this a Jersey thing?” Rizzo: “Listen, they didn’t want to impede with their investigation. The saw it was safe. The just wanted to get out.” Abrams: “It’s a Jersey thing.” Rizzo: “It’s courtesy…and they brought so much down to the state of Florida…” Abrams: “I love the fact that he’s trying to…make them friends…”

  • Toledo, Ohio On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of brandishing machine gun.” Officers Sawicki and Torbet make contact with a group of noisy young people in the street in a residential neighborhood. It appears that the group might be just filming a music video possibly with a toy gun. The cops advise them to “be careful with traffic…have fun…do your thing…get some views…” and move on to the next call.”

Abrams: “There you got a nice view behind the scenes…”

  • Daytona Beach, Fla.On Patrol: live caption: “Investigating possible kidnapping.” Lt. Maher searches for a potential suspect vehicle, although the allegations aren’t fully nailed down and are somewhat vague. The situation is still unresolved when the episode concludes.

Listen below to the various clips as Lt. Maher outlines the potential and somewhat changing allegations (“…If we can get the car and felony-stop it, we will. If it flees, I’m not gonna approve a pursuit based on some of the informational issues we’re having right now”):

  • Knox County, Tenn. — K9 Officer Zachary Doss makes contact with a homeowner on a report of someone banging on her windows or doors and pulling on the door handle. Officer Doss: “She doesn’t know of anybody that would be coming, but she says she has kicked some people out, so could be an angry, previous tenant. So we’re gonna take a look around, make sure there’s nobody out here…” On Patrol: Live caption: “Mysterious disturbance.”
  • Berkeley County, S.C. — Lieutenant Paul Yacobozzi heads to the scene of a vehicle vs. Amtrak train collision. On Patrol: Live caption: “Train strikes vehicle,” “Rail crossing collision.” Other first responders on scene. The vehicle allegedly got stuck on the tracks; front end wrecked. No injuries. Lt. Yacobozzi mentions that he has training and experience in investigating these kinds of accidents. “I’ve work a hundred of these…” Abrams: “See the fog there in the distance which may have been a contributing factor…looks like the train headed on its way, but if you’re waiting for that train up north somewhere, guessing it’s gonna be a little late.”

Lt. Yacobozzi’s preliminary assessment: “So just looking at it, you can tell it was a low-speed crash. If this train hit him, it’s kind of equivalent to be running over a tin can just because it was on the other side of the tracks. It didn’t travel very far, so speed’s probably not gonna be a factor. If I had to guess, probably 25, 35, max, but I’ll find out because they’ll have it on the event recorder.”

Listen below to Lt. Yacobozzi’s update:

  • Daytona Beach, Fla. — Officer Fertz Gaspard initiates a friendly traffic stop on a truck hauling a BBQ grill for an alleged obscured tag. Officer Gaspard: “…Smells good though…” On Patrol: Live caption: “Pit stop.” The driver is likely released with a warning.
  • Richland County, S.C. — Master Deputy Colin Davis and a colleague conduct a traffic stop allegedly for not using a turn signal and making an unlawful turn. The driver seems reluctant to exit the car when asked, and then takes off off. On Patrol: Live caption: “In pursuit.” The vehicle wrecks out in a wooded area, and the driver bails. On Patrol: Live caption: “Suspect running.” Multiple deputies and a K9 search the area and find the suspect in the woods; the suspect is bitten by the dog in the process. On Patrol: Live caption: “Suspect in custody.” A wad of cash and drugs allegedly found. Paramedics summoned to the scene to treat the suspect for the dog bite.

Abrams update: “Now on him, they found that satchel, which had over $20,000 in cash. The charges now include failure to stop for blue lights, possession of meth, possession of the controlled substance for oxy, simple possession of marijuana, and driving under suspension.”

  • Knox County, Tenn. — Officer John Longendorf and a colleague on a traffic stop. The driver informs the officers that he has a gun in the car in a bag. Officer Longendorf mentions that Tennessee is a constitutional carry state. Driver: “I’m doing DoorDash. Officer Longendorf: “DoorDash, not DrugDash, right?” Driver: “Hell no.” Quick consensual car search. On Patrol: Live does not return to this stop during the show, but the likelihood is that the driver is released with no charges.
  • Toledo, Ohio — Officers Torbet and Sawicki and other cops respond to a report of an attempted break-in at a residence. On Patrol: Live captions: “High-risk search,” “Tactical sweep underway.” Police clear the residence; the premises seems secure.

Listen below to Officer Torbet’s incident recap:

  • Baton Rouge, La. — Sergeant Lear and Officer Armstrong respond to a naked guy on a the roof of a home. On Patrol: Live caption: “Rooftop situation.” The subject eventually exits the roof voluntarily after cops convinced him to do so and is detained. Sgt. Lear: “Thank you for coming down.” Paramedics summoned, and the subject is transported on a stretcher.

OPL host Dan Abrams: “It would appear that there are likely some mental health issues there…bravo to our camera person there, using the blue umbrella.” OPL studio analyst Sean Larkin: “Well done.” Abrams: “…to keep it safe…PG…apparently he has no connection to this home.”

Listen below to Sgt. Lear’s incident recap;

  • Christian County, Mo. (pre-recorded segment) — Watch the video clip below as Corporal Ryan Bradshaw and fellow deputies respond to an alleged domestic disturbance. Abrams introduces the segment by asserting that “what started as a family feud apparently turned into a food fight.” A male on scene ends up arrested after resisting.
  • Triple Play #3 — a Lee County, Fla., pursuit:

On Patrol: Live Hour 3

  • Lee County, Fla. On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of man with knife.” In a somewhat confusing situation, Deputy Mackenzie makes contact with a friendly older man outside Walmart who she says “seems highly intoxicated.” She and other cops also make contact with a woman, the man’s purported friend or co-worker, who apparently drove the man to the store. They also converse with the woman’s husband on the phone. On Patrol: Live captions: “Rum-related dispute,” “Rum-related love triangle.” After extensive conversations, deputies seem to potentially conclude that there’s no crime at all. It’s unclear how this scenario, whatever it happens to be, is or will be resolved.

Listen below to just a portion of the deputies’ preliminary assessment:

Abrams quips that “who knew about the professional code of conduct for insurance agents? Larking: “We all have to do our part.” Abrams: “A lot of specific duties that she has because she’s an insurance agent.”

  • Daytona Beach, Fla. — Lt. Maher backs up Detective Noah Galbreath on a friendly traffic stop. The driver is released with a warning. Lt. Maher: “I guess he got me confused with Jay and Chris for a second there, but that happens quite often.”
  • BOLO segment — Blount County, Ala., murder suspect:
  • Daytona Beach, Fla. On Patrol: Live caption: “911 called says ‘just come.'” Lt. Maher and Officer Thomas Goble respond to a residence on this call and interact with people on scene. Although this another confusing situation tonight, apparently things are okay there after cops make a well-being check.
  • Christian County, Mo. — Deputy Trevor Guinn and newly promoted Corporal Jacob Woodcock respond to a possible burglary in progress and make contact with the homeowner. After an investigation, no sign of forced entry. Suspects, if any, already fled. Deputy Guinn: “As of right now, I think Deputy Woodcock might have save the day — Corporal Woodcock, yeah.” The two cops joke that the corporal stripes are on back order. Local police to take over the investigation.
  • Clayton County, Mo. — Lieutenant Jonathan Carey conducts a traffic stop a gas station. The motorist was allegedly speeding at 93 mph in a 40-mph zone. Alleged odor of weed. Car search. The driver is released with tickets for alleged reckless driving and speeding. “I’m not gonna tow his car, so I’ll let him keep his car this time.” Lt. Carey directs the motorist to stomp out some weed before he leaves the scene (see video clip embedded below). Lieutenant Joseph Toombs is on scene as backup.

Abrams: “So he is being polite, and as we’ve always said, that can help a lot, even when you’re going 93 in a 40, because we’ve seen people in Clayton County go to jail over speed.” Larkin: “Those tickets will be outrageous. And your insurance costs are obviously very high.” Abrams: “They may have to contact that woman who’s an insurance agent.” Rizzo: ‘I was going to say — she would know instantly…” Abrams: “She’s an agent.”

Listen below to Lt. Toombs preliminarily discuss this stop:

  • Missing segment — Los Angeles, Calif.
  • Daytona Beach, Fla. — In the video clips below as the episode concludes, Lt Maher, Officer Gaspard, and other cops respond to a head-on collision on a bridge. On Patrol: Live caption: “Crash investigation underway.” It appears there are no injuries.
