Brexit Postponement Sought by Theresa May

“Theresa the appeaser,” as some call her, has done it again. After repeatedly promising the British electorate that Brexit means Brexit, that the U.K. would officially leave the European Union on March 29, and that no deal is better than a bad deal, Prime Minister Theresa May has announced tonight in a televised address that she has asked the European Commission to extend the departure date to June 30. EU official Donald Tusk has said that the EU would agree to the three-month extension under the Lisbon Treaty only if the U.K. parliament first approves May’s negotiated withdrawal agreement, which Brexit champion Nigel Farage has described as a surrender document, and which the House of Commons has voted down twice already. Ironically, this Catch-22, however, means that a no-deal Brexit is still possible. read more

Twitter Hit with $250 Million Lawsuit

Congressman Devin Nunes is suing Twitter for defamation in a filing that he says is the first of many. Nunes, a California Republican who headed the House Intelligence Committee (which made him a target of the far left or alt left), is seeking money damages totaling $250 million (a trendy number) for defamation from the social media network, among other forms of requested relief. He also maintains that Twitter shadow-banned him and others. Although the president has spoken about and tweeted about social network bias, neither the Trump administration or possibly compromised GOP lawmakers collectively have taken any substantive steps to address against social media censorship as yet. Nunes has taken the matter into his own hands. read more

‘Live PD’ Officer Andrea Zendejas Involved In Alleged DUI Accident: Report

El Paso, Texas, cop Andrea Zendejas, often featured on the ride-along TV show Live PD, was a passenger in an alleged early morning DUI-related car crash. According to the El Paso Times, which obtained a police complaint affidavit, Zendejas’ face “was covered with blood” after the accident. Fortunately her injuries are described as minor. The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup that allegedly rear-ended a parked Mazda, Officer Thomas Sneed, 39, has also appeared on the hit reality series. Sneed was reportedly driving Zendejas to a friend’s residence after they left a bar near police headquarters when the accident occurred. read more

Jeff Bezos May Have to Write a Huge Check to His Wife and the Covington Kid

The accountant for billionaire Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man, likely will have a busy year. Bezos will probably have to split his massive fortune with his wife when they officially go their separate ways. His Post newspaper is now also facing a $250 million 38-page defamation lawsuit from Covington Catholic high school student Nicholas Sandmann for what his lawyers describe as “a modern-day form of McCarthyism” in connection with the paper’s coverage of the highly publicized incident at the Lincoln Memorial in January. On Friday night, hoping that no one was paying attention, the Post published an editor’s note about its coverage in what is often described generically as an under-the-radar document dump. read more

Trump Honors UC Berkeley Assault Victim, Announces Free Speech Executive Order

During a typically free-wheeling two-hour speech at CPAC on Saturday, President Donald Trump invited UC Berkeley assault victim Hayden William up on the stage. Williams was the conservative activist from the Leadership Institute who brutally punched while recruiting on campus for Turning Point USA. Calling the assault disgusting, Trump praised Williams, noting that “he took a hard punch in the face for all of us…and we can never allow that to happen.” The president advised him to sue all all potentially culpable institutional parties affiliated with the so-called birthplace of the free speech movement in addition to the alleged assailant. (Attorney Harmeet Dhillon, who is fired Google software engineer James Damore’s legal counsel, is representing Williams in whatever civil claims he may pursue.) Williams pointed out at conservative students across the country “are facing discrimination, harassment, and worse” if they exercise their free-speech rights. “If socialist progressives had their way, they would put the Constitution through a paper shredder in a heartbeat,” he added. read more

New Voter ID Law Study Released

Democrats and their allied, litigious “civil rights” groups probably think that the application of voter ID laws are is worse than waterboarding. Aimed at voter fraud, these laws merely require someone to show a government-issued photo identification (or an alternative form of identification) to vote. If a stoner can come up with a proper ID to gain legal access to weed, any American citizen should be able to obtain same from the DMV. It also seems like a disrespectful form of paternalism or victimhood projection to argue that a certain constituency is incapable of getting an ID. Moreover, Dems whine about voter suppression, which is simply a way to take even minimal level steps to prevent them from stuffing the ballot box with illegal votes. Yet, a new academic study concludes that “strict” voter ID laws have no statistically significant effect at the polling place. read more

Is the Brexit Betrayal Underway?

Following up this blog’s previous Brexit-related post, tone-deaf Theresa May appears to be indeed flip-flopping, setting the stage for the Labor and Conservative globalists in parliament, as well as some backpedaling pro-Brexit Tories, to thwart a clean Brexit, thus selling out the British people.  The aptly named May seems intent on giving up her biggest bargaining chip with the EU, that being a no-deal Brexit, which would trigger World Trade Organization rules. read more

Hate Crime Hoaxes Occur Frequently, Academic Researchers Contend

In the aftermath of the Jussie Smollett apparent hoax, several college professors have concluded that hate crime hoaxes are more common than popular perception. Chicago cops have charged the Empire actor with disorderly conduct for filing a false police report after a claim that he was assaulted by two MAGA-hat wearing, MAGA-country shouting Trump supporters. Some two dozen detectives investigated the Smollett case in a city that is engulfed in an ongoing gun violence crime wave. Hate crime hoaxes obviously prevent law enforcement authorities from deploying resources to investigate real hate crimes and/or serious felonies. read more
