An older man minding his own business at a Palo Alto, Cal., Starbucks apparently triggered a woman merely because he was wearing a MAGA hat, according to news reports. The woman who tried to bully him, described by Palo Alto Online as a member of a local progressive Democrat organization, accused the 74 year old of being a Nazi and racist. It turns out the man is Jewish. A music store where the woman worked subsequently fired her.

This is hardly the first instance in which someone got into the face of a peaceful Trump supporter wearing the iconic ball cap.

The woman took to Facebook to describe the encounter, Palo Alto Online reported, including her vow to publicly shame him.

“Calling him a ‘hater of brown people,’ Mankey said she yelled at him and addressed Starbucks customers and employees to join her in her effort. She said she left the store but soon returned and continued to yell at him…she followed him out of the store to the parking lot, where she continued to berate and swear at him.

“She called the man ‘Nazi scum’ and threatened to post pictures of him on social media, which she then did, along with her version of the incident on her Facebook page and on Twitter. She asked the public for help finding him — ‘I want him to have nowhere to hide,” she wrote — a practice called ‘doxing,’ or posting personal contact information to encourage threats and harassment….

Evidently the other Starbucks customers ignored the entire confrontation, resisting the woman’s efforts to convince them to join in the public tirade.

The backlash on social media, however, appears to have cost the woman her job.

Said the MAGA-hat man, a regular Starbucks customer identified by local media as Victor F.:

“Lots of people come up to me and say they sympathize and so on, but they’re scared to wear the Trump hat. So I hope this incident brings a wave of people wearing the Trump hats, just like the wave of people with anti-Trump.opinions.”
