With all the focus among the media and political class on Russian interference in the U.S. electoral process, are these “watchdogs” ignoring China’s ambitions with their witch hunt obsession? China continues to rapidly expand its powerful economic, political, and military tentacles all over the world.
In addition to massive intellectual property theft, moreover, recall that Chinese-government-affiliated hackers breached the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in December 2015 during the Obama admission, possibly comprising the personal information of four million current or past federal workers.
U.S. President Donald Trump and his team are trying to reform the one-sided trade relationship between America and China. Against that backdrop, is it any wonder that China might be attempting to meddle in the 2020 election to help the open borders, globalist Democrats?
China Meddling in the Trump Reelection?
From Bill Gertz of the Washington Free Beacon, the 2020 election could be a contest between Trump and China, with the Democrats as mere proxies.
“China is conducting an aggressive disinformation and influence campaign designed to block the re-election of President Trump in 2020, according to a dissident Chinese billionaire who until recently was close to senior Beijing leaders. Guo Wengui, an exiled Chinese real estate tycoon-turned-anti-communist critic, said in an interview that details of the influence operation were disclosed recently by Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan in Beijing. The campaign has been underway since the 2018 mid-term election and involves enlisting pro-China elements inside the United States to end the Trump administration after four years…By deploying its intelligence and influence resources in the United States, the [Communist Party of China] is working to exploit the harsh political divisions between Democrats and Republicans in seeking to unseat the Trump administration.”
Beijing intends to unleash four propaganda-related schemes to defeat Trump in 2020, the Gertz expose claims:
“Regarding Wang’s disclosure, the Chinese vice president reportedly said China plans on using ‘four weapons’ to derail Trump’s re-election…The first weapon to be used against Trump is the use Wall Street financial leaders….The second political weapon in the anti-Trump campaign are those political leaders and lobbyists in Washington who can be enlisted to oppose Trump...American mainstream news and social media outlets, many of which have been shown to be hostile toward Trump, are a third tool in the Chinese campaign...A fourth line of attack is China’s effort to co-opt the overseas Chinese and Asian-Americans, groups that have grown in political power through increased wealth and subsequent political donations and voting power… Guo urged Congress to create a special agency dedicated to identifying and countering foreign influence by powers like China….”
Guo expressed a belief that virtually all the Chinese people want the corrupt and self-serving, self-dealing rule by the Communist Party elite to come to an end, Gertz noted.

President Trump often insists he has a great relationship with President XI. Next time the two leaders sit down for a chat, the POTUS should demand an explanation about China’s covert strategy from his friend.
Make America Dependent Again?
Co-opting the news media and Big Tech platforms should be relatively easy task for China in that they almost always support (and shall we say collude with?) foreign interests over what’s best for America, its economy and security, and its workers. They especially loathe the president’s American First agenda. The same holds true for most Democrats, elements in the GOP establishment including the Never Trumpers, the hedge fund cohort, and assorted crony capitalists.

All of these above-referenced “experts” were sanguine, before Trump made it to the White House, even as American manufacturing (and jobs) were hollowed out under both Republican and Democrat administrations.
The same kind of thing seems to be in play in the U.K., where much of the European Union-adoring, London-centric media and political class bitterly oppose Brexit.
Parenthetically, Hollywood and Big Tech like to pride themselves on speaking truth to power, except when it comes to making profound ethical comprises related to their China market share.
On the subject collusion, there is lots of speculation that Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the figurehead of the Trump-Russia investigation, held his no collusion-no obstruction report until after the 2018 midterm elections to help the Democrats take over the U.S. House.
