Did MSNBC and CNN, among other mainstream (or fakestream) “news” organizations, obsess over the Russia collusion narrative like it was a ratings-driven “as seen on TV” product? For instance, Glenn Greenwald was one of just a handful of left-wing journalists expressing skepticism about allegations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia. In an appearance with Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, Greenwald maintained that the 24-7, anti-Trump drumbeat by “CIA TV” was a wholly unethical, exploitative, and divisive way to make money. Special Counsel Mueller’s report has now cleared President Trump and others of any collusion or obstruction allegations.
Observed Big League Politics about Greenwald’s track record in opposing the Russia collusion delusion:
“Greenwald is a left-of-center journalist who isn’t afraid to criticize establishment media for lies and dishonesty…The conspiracy theories, Greenwald asserted, were fuel for a hawkish project to create hostility between the United States and Russia without regards for the consequences. Greenwald pointed out the unipolar bias of MSNBC and traditional liberal media in alleging Russia collusion conspiracies. Skeptics of the conventional narrative of a grand Trump-Russia conspiracy were largely blackballed from appearing on air, while ‘journalists’ being fed information from Deep-state linked government officials peddled grand claims that have surfaced to be entirely and completely false.
“The Russia conspiracy will go on the enter the Hall of Fame of Fake News perpetrated by the establishment media corporations. But don’t expect them to learn their lesson this time, or anytime soon.”
The Media Has Some Explaining To Do
Remember the good old days when media liberals championed civil liberties?
Said Greenwald in his dialogue with Tucker about the media’s deceptive, guilty until proven innocent, tactics presented to a gullible audience:
“MSNBC…should hang their head in shame and apologize for lying to [viewers] for three straight years, exploiting their fears to great profit…these are people who were on the verge of losing their jobs. That whole network was about to collapse. This whole scam saved them. And not only did they constantly feed people for three straight years total disinformation, they did it on purpose…”
No fan of the incumbent president who he considers corrupt for other reasons, Greenwald added that MSNBC banned any left-wing journalist who was skeptical of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
During this entire saga, MSNBC also apparently accused Greenwald and several others of being agents of the Russian government and traitors.
“They wanted their audience not to know that anyone was questioning…the lies and the scam they were selling because it was so profitable. They did it on purpose. It was a total fraud that they perpetrated on their audience…”
Carlson chimed in that MSNBC and CNN paid former high-level Obama Deep State officials to parrot anti-Trump talking points as if they have inside information. As alluded to above, these officials often crowed about impending indictments and impeachment.
Journalism Malpractice and Fraud?
Greenwald responded that the media has learned nothing from the Iraq WMD debacle about the importance of skepticism about pronouncements from the intelligence community who previously “lied the country into war.”
“It has completely corrupted journalism….not only did MSNBC and CNN use those people as their sources, they hired them as their news analysts. So if you turn on CNN or MSNBC, it was basically state TV, CIA TV….they’re disinformation agents who now work at CNN and MSNBC, shaping what their news is, and that’s why these channels turned into disinformation campaigns…”
Netither Carlson nor Greenwald seemed too optimistic that there will be accountability for the Democrat-media complex for sowing division within the country about nonexistent Russia collusion with the Trump campaign.
Greenwald noted that conspiracy theorist Rachel Maddow, for example, is a highly paid liberal celebrity who is essential to the MSNBC brand, and thus her on-the-air position is secure.

Deep State-Run TV?
Liberal critics of the Fox News Channel in the blue-check brigade have mocked the network as state-run TV because of its ties to Trump. Outside of prime time, however, FNC is noticeably moving left owing to the influence of the Murdock Bros, and thus alienating a significant portion of its massive audience.
Ironically, MSNBC and the Clinton News Network obviously operated as state-run TV during the Obama years, and currently operate as Pelosi TV.
Moreover, let’s recall that the Obama administration including Hillary Clinton gave 20 percent of U.S. uranium to the Russians around the time that cash from that country poured into the Clinton Foundation. Plus, the Clinton campaign and the Democrats paid for the fake Russian dossier that the Obama Deep State used as a pretext to unconstitutionally spy on the Trump campaign. Partisan Obama FBI/DOJ officials also apparently tanked the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
Remember, too, the so-called Russian reset under the Obama administration as well as the then-president telling Putin’s number two that he would have more flexibility after the 2012 election. Obama also ridiculed 2012 rival Mitt Romney for warning America about Russia’s intentions.
Parenthetically, ongoing collusion continues between the Big Tech platforms and the Democrats. Meanwhile, China is enormously expanding its political, economic, and military tentacles all over the world, sometimes with the help of Big Tech. Democrats and GOP Never Trumpers don’t seem at all concerned about China’s ambitions.
Hillary Instigated RussiaGate
Writes Michael Goodwin of the New York Post about what he deemed the “collapse of Hillary’s big lie.”
“We now know that Hillary Clinton and her supporters misled the country in claiming that the White House was stolen from her. She started the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax and her claims, aided by the Obama White House and magnified by a thoroughly partisan media, set in motion a wild-goose chase. The chase undermined a duly elected president and cost taxpayers more than $30 million for an investigation that proved the accusations were flat-out false. Yet money alone is hardly the full price. The probe itself was a giant cloud over the presidency…Let’s remember, too, that [Clinton’s] campaign actually did work with Russians, through FusionGPS and British agent Christopher Steele, to create a fictional scenario about Trump being compromised.
“Which brings us to today’s Democrats. They bought into Clinton’s Big Lie and built a house of cards on smoke and mirrors. The collapse is total… the end of Mueller must not mean the end of investigating what happened in 2016. It was, after all, the Clinton-financed Russian dossier that formed the basis of the FBI investigation launched by the disgraced James Comey that summer.
“How did that happen? How did a partisan dirty trick result in an FBI probe of the other party’s presidential candidate?… These and other questions deserve at least as much scrutiny as Clinton’s false claims.
Added quasi-Never Trumper Rich Lowry in a Post column titled “The sad, surprise ending to Rachel Maddow’s spy thriller”:
“For the past two years, Rachel Maddow has been a hero of her own spy thriller… Only the story had a surprise twist at the end — she was completely wrong….
“Yes, there were disturbing developments in the Mueller probe, but the evidence always tilted away from any Trump-Russian conspiracy.
Believing otherwise required ignoring common sense (why would the Russians need to collude with the Trump campaign in the first place?), ignoring statements from more sober-minded intelligence officials that there was no evidence of collusion, ignoring the policy areas where Trump was tougher on Russia than Obama and ignoring how the Mueller probe was unfolding, with no indictments for espionage or conspiracy with the Russians.”
