With the Joe Biden classified documents scandal still in the news cycle, the projection phenomenon is becoming even more evident.
Fox News contributor Joey Jones claims that even his friend who enjoys “green cigarettes” has noticed the performative projection, a persistent tendency by Democrats that could also qualify as a double standard or a form of gaslighting.
According to one dictionary definition, projection is “the tendency to ascribe to another person feelings, thoughts, or attitudes present in oneself.”
Sitting in for Jesse Watters on The Five ensemble show, here’s what retired U.S. Marine Jones mentioned on Monday evening about #CorvetteGate, a.k.a. #GarageGate, as it relates to perpetual Democrat projection.
There are two things at play here for me — as an American citizens sitting her watching this play out. The first is fairness and accountability. Investigate Trump for what had happened; investigate Biden for what had happened. They both should be held accountable for violating protocols that I would be ruined over as a young Marine.
I love President Trump as a president; I voted for him twice; that’s true. But does a Republican — do I feel better about documents that were in a safe inside a secured compound that I would do behind Biden’s Corvette? Of course I do. But if both are violations of the same rule. Investigate them, and put it out there. I don’t think there is a lot of jail time on the table or something like that.
But if I want to talk about the second issue that as a partisan really is important to me…My buddy…looks at me one day…and goes ‘you know, they do everything they accuse Republicans of doing’…but it’s true. I mean they call us racists while they’re pushing CRT…They call us war hawks while they’re droning American citizens abroad and funding a war against Russia. They call us insurrectionists while they’re burning city hall. And oh, by the way, not only are they doing that but they’re propping up Stacey Abrams, the ‘OG’ election denier. They do all these things that they accuse Republicans of.
[They’re] a lot better at communicating it usually on the front end…’let’s pretend like we’re not doing it and accuse them of it.’ At the end of the day, this ‘I know you are, but what am I.” And I don’t think they’re going to get away with it.
Added: Along these lines, historian Victor Davis Hanson has asserted that “The Democratic Left has mastered the art of projection. Most of their own nefarious activity (now soon to be revealed) will be recalibrated as the crimes of their opponents.”
