This recent discussion between U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) and CNN host Kaitlan Collins is yet another example of so much of what goes on in the news media is merely transactional.

Collins was considered a conservative when she worked at The Daily Caller (a news outlet co-founded by Tucker Carlson). Once she started collecting a CNN paycheck, she started spewing Democrat talking points.

In other words, it’s all a transaction: Will work for ‘tude (i.e., attitude).

She is hardly the only smarmy “journalist” whose politics completely switched upon getting a new gig in the mainstream or establishment media, particularly after Donald Trump became a politician.

Collins also made a mess of the May 10, 2023, CNN televised town hall with former President Trump, especially in the way she kept interrupting and hectoring him in her miscast role as the moderator.

Running interference for the Biden administration, she also talked over Stefanik during this interview.

CNN even makes CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer sick.

Employees in any industry have to follow company policies with which they may disagree, but those who work in the media seem to especially have no regard for self respect when there are checks to be cashed.

Ratings- and financially-challenged CNN just promoted Natasha Betrand, someone who The Federalist editor in chief Mollie Hemingway (among others) pointed out is someone who pedaled “the Russia collusion lie and for writing the story that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.”

Reacting to this promotion, Breitbart’s John Nolte wrote, in part:

…But give Bertrand credit. She knows what it takes to climb the corporate media ladder…And CNN promoting this worthless propagandist is why CNN is on the verge of collapse. Itā€™s why CNN has the most unappealing cast of anchors ever assembled in front of a television camera. Merit, credibility, and an appealing personality have NOTHING to do with getting ahead at CNN. You can be the most unlikable, charmless, humorless moron in TV news, but if youā€™re willing to bend over for the CIA, FBI, and Democrat Party, CNN will put you on TV…

About CNN generally, in article that listed 25relatively recent hoaxes (or fake news) that the network once known as the most trusted name in news reported as legit, Nolte separately asserted that “The outlet is basically left-wing-talk-radio-on-TV now. Within ten years, CNN will either be entirely gone or a squeaking little add-on gerbil at the Max streaming service.”

Nolte separately explained that cable subscribers are subsidizing CNN and other channels, but not for long. “Every year, more and more smart and patriotic Americans cut the cable cord, which is why CNN is doomed.”
