Jon Kyl, who temporarily replaced the late Senator John McCain in the U.S. Senate is, as expected, stepping down as of December 31, the end of the legislative calendar. He previously served three terms in the Senate alongside McCain.
Arizona GOP Gov. Doug Ducey will soon appoint a replacement who will serve until 2020.
The obvious choice for Ducey is outgoing Congresswoman Martha McSally.
In the 2018 midterms, Arizona somehow narrowly “elected” to the U.S. Senate a far-left activist over U.S. Air Force hero McSally — the first American woman to fly in combat.
While McSally oddly sought donations for a recount, she nonetheless conceded the election and had little say about Maricopa County chicanery that could have fraudulently handed the seat to her opponent.
What was the only logical reason for not lodging an election protest?
That Ducey promised her the seat when Sen. Jon Kyl stepped down. Otherwise she failed to fully represent the one million-plus voters who supported her senate candidacy.
Time will tell.
