Will Ralph Northam still be Virginia’s governor by the end of the day? Almost every prominent Democrat who enthusiastically endorsed his candidacy is now calling for him to resign after the Big League Politics website found a racist medical school yearbook page. Note to fake news CNN: Northam is a Democrat, not a Republican, contrary to your chyron last night. Irony in the extreme, the Trump-hating Northam repeatedly branded GOP rival Ed Gillespie as a racist during the campaign. The Northam controversy once again underscores what the late talk show host Bob Grant often said: particularly in matters of race, liberals are the ultimate hypocrites. Moreover, this is yet another example of how the left accuses the right of what the left is actually guilty of. This is also an occasion where Twitter (see tweets below) is performing a brilliant public service.
Many are wondering why no major news outlet or Northam’s Democrat primary opponents, or the Gillespie campaign, uncovered the photo before the election. These high-price political handlers put the “con” in consultant.
No surprise, Northam is on record making all kinds of virtue-signaling statements about racial issues.
UPDATE: Northam told his cabinet this week that he is not going anywhere. “According to that source, the governor specifically said that if he resigns, he would be resigning as a ‘racist for life,’ and that the only way he can clear his name is to stay in office and convince people that he is not in that photo and that the photo does not represent who he is,” WTKR reported.
So Northam doesn’t want be branded a racist for life, kind of how he branded Republican rival Ed Gillespie as a racist for life. “Remember, their campaign theme was that they were going to protect us from Ed Gillespie, who had suddenly transformed from run-of-the-mill GOP pol to dangerous white supremacist just in time for the election. Oops!,” Instapundit‘s Glenn Reynolds observed.

Another Racist Democrat in Virginia?
Far-left Democrat Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, who narrowly defeated Republican Jill Vogel in the November 2017 election, will succeed Northam any minute now, although the governor claims he is not resigning.
The quasi-inept GOP should have another shot at the office in a special election to fill the Lt. Gov. vacancy if/when it occurs.

Added: In his press conference on Saturday afternoon, Northam admitted that he does blackface, but not that blackface.
Two questions: Wonder what Megyn Kelly thinks of all this? And would the Democrats be so vociferous in calling for Ralph Northam to step down if the Lt. Gov. was a Republican?
President Trump has weighed in on the controversy:
