Democrats and their media sycophants have ignored or dismissed voter fraud around the country, even in instances when indictments occur. But they have suddenly concluded that “nonexistent” voter fraud is real and needs to be thoroughly investigated because it allegedly may have  benefited the Republican candidate in a North Carolina congressional district.

It may be that a full and thorough probe is warranted in this situation, and let the chips fall where they may.

Yet while the Dems expressed outraged over alleged ballot harvesting, i.e. third-party collection of ballots even on an intrusive, door-to-door basis, in the Tar Heel State, they championed it in California, where this form of voter fraud was made legal in 2016 after Gov. Jerry Brown signed it into law.

If You’re Not Cheating, You’re Not Trying?

The kind of Democrats’ situational ethics is yet another example of a quote attributed to playwright/filmmaker David Mamet who apparently opined that “In order to continue advancing their illogical arguments, modern liberals have to pretend not to know things…”

As Godfather Politics previously observed in the context of the California legalized vote theft, “In most places, no third party is allowed to see or handle ballots. Only the voter and the person/machine counting the votes should have access to them.”

If the liberal cohort was really concerned about voter fraud, it would demand voter ID in all states rather than treating it like waterboarding. Instead, in many blue states, you can walk in and vote without verifying who you are.  Voter fraud is a fundamental form of voter suppression.

In the U.S. generally, voter registration procedures, as well as absentee and provisional voting and other such practices are inexcusably primitive for an industrialized, technologically advanced nation.

Legal Vote Fraud?

Recall that a bunch of Orange County Republican congressional candidates were ahead on Election Night, but they inexplicably all lost after a massive number of mail-in ballots were counted that overwhelmingly favored Democrats, an outcome that is virtually mathematically impossible.

California state legislators obviously lacked the votes to prevent ballot harvesting to become law. But why the inept, asleep-at-the wheel GOP has not filed suit to challenge these outcomes is another mystery.

California also implemented mandatory voter registration at the DMV, so now liberals have salted away a combination of a huge number of names on the rolls and absentee ballots handed out like Halloween candy (sent to every voter whether requested or not), which enables their voter “outreach” efforts and superior “ground game.” California also gives driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

There is no way that the progressive-dominated state legislature adopted these rules changes in good faith.  Instead, it’s about creating and preserving a one-party dictatorship.

Too Late to Stop the Steal

As alluded to above, a Washington Times editorial by a former California GOP official, which pointed out how GOP hopeful Young Kim held a 14-point lead on Election Night that was subsequently and inexplicably erased by mail-in ballots, provisional ballots, and other forms of stuffing,  outlines how the “merciless” Democrat majority in the state legislature has implemented various other unethical, non-traditional fraudulent practices beyond ballot harvesting.

These measures “have systematically undermined California’s already-weak voter protection laws to guarantee permanent one-party rule,” the editorial declared.

From Joel Pollack at Breitbart:

“The practice of ‘ballot harvesting’ is now thought to have had a major impact on the 2018 midterm elections in California, where several incumbent Republicans in competitive districts had healthy leads on Election Night, only to discover — weeks later, in some cases — they had lost, thanks to mail-in ballots…

“It might be said that the ‘ballot harvesting’ in North Carolina is different because [the Republican operative] is not just being accused of collecting absentee ballots, but of filling them out for voters — or even making sure that some voters’ ballots were never delivered. Those practices are illegal in California, too. But there are no real safeguards in California to make sure such abuses do not happen, and the laws to prevent fraudulent signatures on mail-in ballots are notoriously lax…

“As Government Accountability Institute (GAI) director Eric Eggers told Breitbart News Tonight last week, ‘ballot harvesting’ in California opens the door to all kinds of abuses: ‘The political campaigns now have free license to go find you, and essentially even if they don’t find you, just turn in a ballot in your name.’ The only difference is that California legalized this form of fraud — and did so on a party-line vote, in a state where Republicans are powerless to reject anything Democrats pass.”

Even U.S. House Speaker and soon-to-be wealthy lobbyist Paul Ryan, who was basically AWOL during the midterm elections season, said that “We were only down 26 seats the night of the election and three weeks later, we lost basically every California race. This election system they have – I can’t begin to understand what ‘ballot harvesting’ is.”

While Young Kim and her other Orange County colleagues saw their Election Night victories subsequently washed away by a flood of votes remarkably favoring their opponents, common sense would also suggest that there is no logistical way that the signatures on thousands of post-election, mail-in or harvested ballots were properly verified.

Can’t Trust the Process

Elections have consequences and so do election procedures. There is a big difference between properly making sure every legal vote counts as opposed to counting every vote, no matter how sketchy. These California techniques probably make Broward County jealous.

Added The American Thinker: “It really is a corrupted process, and not surprisingly, Democrats are the sole beneficiaries while the state’s many traditional Republicans are shut out and get nothing.”

By the way, if your typical Trump supporter is a low-information, disengaged voter as MAGA critics often claim, why would Democrats need to employ any of these underhanded tactics to win elections?
