On Patrol: Live season 5: A recap of the September 26, 2026, On Patrol: Live episode on Reelz, as anchored in the #OPLive Jersey City, N.J., studio/control center by attorney/executive producer Dan Abrams, along with the On Patrol Live cast consisting of retired LEOs Sean “Sticks” Larkin and Tom Rizzo, and crime reporter Tom Morris, Jr., follows below. Richland County, S.C., Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson was not on the panel this weekend.

This On Patrol: Live ride-along recap/update also includes the often-provocative or playful social media reaction on X (formerly Twitter) to the law enforcement incidents in the field.

As #OPNation (i.e., the cohort consisting of the reality show’s avid followers) is well aware, and for those viewers and/or social media users new to the program, On Patrol Live on Reelz is more or less a reboot or rebrand of Live PD.

For #OPNation, Tempe, Ariz., was the the primary focal point of this episode of On Patrol: Live where non-crime, light-hearted events such as a banana bar crawl and a massive frat party occurred. Tragically, a stabbing separately occurred in the city that police are still investigating.

  • Richland County, S.C. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of gun threat.” Captain Danny Brown investigates an alleged roommate dispute at a residence and interacts with the victim and several other persons there to try to find out what happened. Another deputy detains a male on scene and retrieves a weapon. Cpt. Brown: “…the victim was actually going in the house to make something to eat for him and his girlfriend and then suspect pulled a gun and pointed it at him…” At this point, Cpt. Brown finds no evidence of gunshots fired. He also alludes to possible or potential alleged “nefarious activities” by others living on the property unrelated to this incident but that might be addressed later.

  • Bernalillo County, N.M. — Deputy Santiago Sandoval initiates a traffic stop apparently for speeding. No license. The driver appears to disclose that that a firearm is in the car, which the deputy secures. When backup arrives, Deputy Sandoval detains the driver. Heavy bleeping. Deputy Sandoval preliminary recap: “…the reason I recognized him was I arrested him probably six months ago or so for DWI. It’s a felony-level DWI. He let me know that he had a warrant, so I detained him right away. I’m gonna get on NCIC, make sure that that warrant is active, and then we’ll go from there.” Deputy Sandoval also claims that the driver got upset that other deputies were talking to his girlfriend “so we just placed him in the vehicle for his safety.”
  • Tempe, Ariz. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Banana bar crawl.” Officer Austin Johnson is on scene where people in banana costumes are doing a downtown bar crawl.

#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Tempe looks like a fun place.”

#OPLive studio analyst Tom Rizzo: “You know what they say about green bananas.” Dan Abrams: “No; I was just asking you. I don’t see any green bananas. They’re all nice and ripe.”

  • Bernalillo County, N.M. — Deputy Jose De La Cruz investigates a disturbance at a residence where a man tells the deputy that he was assaulted while just sitting on a motorcycle outside the home.
  • Richland County, S.C. — Deputy Alex Potash and other units including Corporal Avery Arrington conduct a traffic stop. On Patrol: Live caption: “Cocaine and gun found.” Other substances allegedly or possibly found. Deputy Potash: “…recently I have not seen heroin and meth that commonly with people that are this young…this is a full, complete set…this is pretty much a travel pack…”

  • Berkeley County, S.C. — Deputy Wyatt Tope responds to a report of an alleged physical disturbance in a McDonald’s parking lot. “Apparently, they’ve got into some sort of argument that turned into a fight.” He separately speaks to two individuals (one of whom is animated) on scene to try to determine what happened. After an investigation, the subjects are ultimately advised to leave the area. Heavy bleeping.

On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “Obviously, a tricky situation for the cops. You get two friends who are fighting — someone says…two people are fighting, and then they get there, and they’re like ‘no, no, we’re good.'” On Patrol: Live studio analyst Sean Larkin: “And that’s why the officer right away, he’s there by himself, he wants to try to get the two of them separated. And that’s where you get to hear the individual stories of what’s happened because a lot of people — they’re not gonna be truthful in the presence of their partner. And he did a great job just separating them there.” Abrams: “We’ll see if there [are] any charges in connection with this because it doesn’t seem like either of them want anything.” On Patrol: Live studio analyst Tom Rizzo: “Definitely not a happy meal.” Abrams: “And now it’s a happy meal. It wasn’t when it started, apparently.”

Deputy Tope recap: “So as you can see, it’s some pretty intoxicated parties, which that’s not necessarily a crime in and of itself, but there was definitely a disturbance that occurred here. Because nobody wanted to be forthcoming about what really happened, and unfortunately, when it gets to that point, there’s only so much that we could do when nobody wants to be honest about what happened. So, she’s riding home with this other party. The other party is separating and also leaving in a separate vehicle. So that’s pretty much all there is to it right now.”

  • Tempe, Ariz. — Officer Johnson and paramedics respond to a car accident possibly involving two or three vehicles. One person involved reportedly suffered a broken leg.
  • Baton Rouge, La. — In the video clip below, Officer David Hayden and Corporals Jermaine Javius and Mike Smith conduct a friendly traffic stop. Three occupants who are ultimately released. Open containers poured out.
  • #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Sometimes we do need a woman on the set to explain how coochie pills work, but we all just looked it up, and anyone who wants to look it up for themselves can do the same.” #OPLive studio analyst Tom Morris, Jr: “Feminine hygiene, basically what’s it for.” Abrams: “…you don’t need to look it up now…well, you can look it up for the details…”

On Patrol: Live Hour 2

  • Triple Play #3 — an Arkansas Sate Police highway pursuit in the Hazen area.
  • Tempe, Ariz. — Officer Makenzie Gleave makes a traffic stop on a car that an out of gas. Just as she arrives on scene, the driver shows up with a gas cannister. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Seems there are some additional issues with the guy who ran out of gas.” Alleged suspended license; no insurance. Voluntary car search. No drugs found.

  • Bradford, Ark. — Sergeant Kristen McGlothlin, with backup from another officer, arrests a driver at a traffic stop who had allegedly received previous warnings about driving with with a suspended license. Sgt. McGlothlin to the motorist: “I already told you before that I cut you a break last time and just wrote you a ticket and didn’t tow your car. You’re lucky you got it home today…how many driving on suspended have we written you: four or five, okay….you have been warned umpteen times to not be driving until you get your driver’s license taken care of…you’re going to jail for this one…” #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “…she just said enough is enough, and he’s going to jail.”

Sgt. McGlothlin recap: “So he is gonna go to jail for his fifth or sixth driving on suspended. He was trying to weasel his way out of that one, but that did not happen. He thought because he made it into his driveway that we would just call it good. He was definitely not out looking for us. There’s literally 911 would have been the way to get us at any point in time. He did not do any of those things. He was just trying to fake it until he made it, and he got caught; it is what it is.” On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “Ah, the old hope that home will be a home base that will save you. It doesn’t.”

  • Dorchester County, S.C. — Corporal Barry Lowe conducts a traffic stop at a gas station.
  • Baton Rouge, La. — Cpls. Smith and Javius make a traffic stop. Two male occupants are in a vehicle parked outside an abandoned apartment complex. Cpl. Smith: “I have no issue with you coming here to drink, but I do have an issue with you driving away.”
  • Tempe, Ariz. (prerecorded segment) — On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams introduces the segment by quipping that “Officer Matthew Packer had his hands full with a self-driving car that turned out to have way more problems.” Officer Packer and a colleague respond to the scene where a Waymo driverless car is not moving. Waymo notified.
  • Richland County, S.C. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of loitering.” Captain Brown makes contact with a bicyclist and two occupants of a pickup truck in a store parking lot. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “…a situation where neither of these guys, this guy there, the guy inside the car, seemed to know what her name was…it’s even weirder as the driver emerges.” On Patrol: Live captions: “No name tags found,” “Drug paraphernalia found.” The individuals end up getting released. Weed and pipes are confiscated for destruction.

  • Greene County, Mo. — Deputy Travis Skinner initiates a traffic stop on a motorcycle as part of Operation Safe Ride. No plates. The motorcyclist ends up getting arrested for driving while revoked. Deputy Skinner: “…you’ve been super cooperative…this is a book and release…” Deputy Skinner mentions to his colleagues that “this with be the sixth offense, so it’s definitely a felony…I’m gonna try to call his wife, let her know that he’s going…he’s been super cool with me this entire time…” #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Second person we’ve seen tonight, fifth or sixth violation…it just gives a lot less discretion to the cops in terms of what they can do…”
  • Tempe, Ariz. — The OPL cameras briefly show Officer Kate Anaradian giving treats to K9 Dash. On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams mentions that Officer Anaradian helps train K9s.
  • BOLO update and new BOLO segment (Philadelphia, Pa.):
  • Toledo, Ohio — Sergeant Todd Osting and Detective Jeff Milum conduct a friendly traffic stop.
  • Tempe, Ariz. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of stabbing.” Officer Johnson is among the cops, including Officer Anaradian, along with paramedics, who respond to the scene outside an apartment complex. Police detain a possible suspect. Heavy bleeping. Paramedics render aid to the victim before the latter is transported to a hospital. On Patrol: Live caption: “Investigating stabbing.” Officer Johnson provides some preliminary information in the video clip below. Investigation ongoing.

  • Toledo, Ohio — Offices Eric Draper and Chris Mulinix respond to a residence on a friendly noise complaint and ask the cooperative males on scene to just turn down the base. On Patrol: Live caption: “Urination in progress.”
  • Tempe, Ariz. — Officer Gleave and at least one other cop initially respond on a report of an Uber driver who said someone hit his car. Police end up dispersing a massive frat party at the location attended by many scantily clad coeds because cars are blocking neighbors’ driveways. The On Patrol: Live studio panel is amazed about how many students were in attendance on scene as the latter leave the area. In the video clip below, Officer Gleave estimates that about 300-400 partygoers were present. On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “I would have guessed three or four thousand…that’s one successful frat party.”

#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “It’s ladies’ night there, right? Like five women for every guy at this party…you gotta give credit if this is actually a fraternity party if they were able to successfully flip the ratio.”

  • Richland County, S.C. — Deputy Potash respond to a report of a home invasion where a male was allegedly trying to kick in the front door.

Deputy Potash preliminary recap: “So essentially what we’ve got right now is it appears that they were in some sort of relationship prior to this. The other party came over to this individual’s house and tried to come in. The individual did not want them to come in, so they kind of got upset, ripped the Ring camera off, and tried to force entry into the home. A couple texts that the victim actually showed me saying ‘I’m gonna set your car on fire, I’m gonna pour gas in the car.’ So we come down to the victim’s car, and it’s covered in gas on the top.”

  • Missing segment — Sacramento, Calif:
  • Baton Rouge, La. (pre-recorded segment) — In the video clip above, #OPLive studio analyst Sean Larkin learned how to make beignets while visiting the area for the previous ride-along.
  • Bernalillo County, N.M. — As the episode concludes, Deputy De La Cruz and other units detain a woman in the video clip below. Baggies apparently found in a pat-down.
