A now-deleted tweet by Easy Rider actor Peter Fonda has been brought to the attention of the U.S. Secret Service.

Fonda, who seems very uneasy about the situation involving family separation at the southern border, took to social media early this morning to propose that Barron Trump, the young son of President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, should be thrown in a cage with pedophiles.

From The Daily Caller:

“Spokesperson for the first lady Stephanie Grisham told The Daily Caller that the Secret Service has been ‘notified’ of the threat. ‘The tweet is sick and irresponsible and USSS has been notified,’ Grisham said.”

In the ongoing border controversy, Fonda has apparently also used his Twitter feed to disparage DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He has also called for harassment of ICE agents and their children.

Trump derangement syndrome?

The actor who doesn’t seem to recognize the boundaries of civil discourse is starring in a new movie called Boundaries. There are already calls for a boycott of the film that premieres on Friday.

Update: Sony has condemned Peter Fonda’s comment as “abhorrent, reckless and dangerous,” The Hollywood Reporter noted last night. but nonetheless is going to release his movie anyway as scheduled to avoid unfairly penalizing everyone else who worked on it. That’s a fair point, but would that apply in other instances?

Fonda, the son of Henry Fonda and brother of Jane Fonda, also issued an apology.

Update: Peter Fonda is a domestic terrorist according to the National Border Patrol Council, which says that “Once again, we have a deranged liberal ‘star’ born with a silver spoon in his mouth who thinks play-acting as a ‘tough guy’ in a movie equates to being a tough guy in real life.”
