A Pinterest software engineer who leaked information to Project Veritas about behind-the-scenes censorship found himself escorted out of the building by security with no explanation.

The whistleblower told FNC’s Tucker Carlson (see video below) about his revelations that “I did this because I saw wrongdoing, and the normalization of censorship in tech companies right now is downright un-American.”

As a further example of Silicon Valley’s hive mind, YouTube pulled the Project Veritas original, 20-minute video interview with the whistleblower, but it is still available on the Project Veritas website.

More Suspensions

Twitter apparently temporarily suspended the Veritas account after the Pinterest expose. Pinterest has permanently suspended the account of pro-life organization Live Action.

“In an interview, the Pinterest insider who leaked the documents explains how the company censors pro-life and Christian content on the website,” the James O’Keefe-led organization explained.

From Bloomberg Technology:

“[O’Keefe and Live Action] say Pinterest’s actions — first putting Live Action’s web domain name on a list of blocked pornography sites, then banning the organization altogether — are part of a larger effort by social media companies to stifle conservative voices. The dust-up is the latest in a wave of conservative complaints of social media bias…In an emailed statement, Pinterest’s press office said it took action against the organization ‘several months ago for violating our misinformation policy related to conspiracies and health and not for any other reason.'”

“There is kind of a passive-aggressive weaslely quality to all these tech companies’ responses,” Carlson quipped during his discussion with the whistleblower.

Pro- or Anti-Abortion Is Not the Fundamental Issue

Regardless of whether you are pro-choice or pro-life, or even whether you are fan or not of O’Keefe’s brand of journalism, any fair-minded person has to be concerned about the censorship in play on supposedly-neutral social media platforms.

A GoFundMe page is now set up for the whistleblower who is identified as Eric Cochran. While he is strongly pro-life, again, this goes well beyond the abortion debate. “He sacrificed his career, his friends, his reputation, and his salary and stock options that he relies on because of his undying commitment to the truth…After being fired for whistleblowing, Eric is more determined than ever to bring transparency to the powers that be. ” the page asserts.

Although people from all ideological points of view work in Silicon Valley, what recently fired Google engineer Mike Wacker describes as far-Left outrage mobs seem to be running the show. This includes engaging in Orwellian censorship and free-speech suppression.

Under vague terms of service violations, and particularly recently, Big Tech in the form of Google, Twitter, Facebook and others have has suspended, shadow banned, throttled, or de-platformed several peaceful yet provocative right-wing content producers and Trump supporters (wholly unrelated to fringe actors). Algorithm changes have similarly harmed traffic. Payment processors are also getting into the de-platforming game.

No matter how abusive, threatening, or vulgar leftists behave online, big tech firms hardly ever get subject them to any form of disciplinary action.

It remains to be seen if Cochran has a legal cause of action against Pinterest for wrongful discharge, or even if he is interested in going down that road. If you’ve ever been wrongly fired, even in a blue state, you are probably aware that it is difficult to obtain justice.

Last week, however, a California judge green-lit a lawsuit originally filed by free speech attorney Harmeet Dhillon on behalf of fired Google engineer James Damore and others. Google fired Damore in 2017 after he authored a 10-page memo that challenged the company’s obsessive diversity policies and politically correct atmosphere.
