On Patrol: Live All-New Episode Tonight
On Patrol: Live season 5: A recap of the August 29, 2026, On Patrol: Live episode on Reelz, as anchored in the #OPLive Jersey City, N.J., studio/control center by attorney/executive producer Dan Abrams, along with the On Patrol Live cast consisting of retired LEOs Sean “Sticks” Larkin and Tom Rizzo. Tom Morris, Jr, was not on the panel this weekend.
This On Patrol: Live ride-along recap/update also includes the often-provocative or playful social media reaction on X (formerly Twitter) to the law enforcement incidents in the field.
As #OPNation (i.e., the cohort consisting of the reality show’s avid followers) is well aware, and for those viewers and/or social media users new to the program, On Patrol Live on Reelz is more or less a reboot or rebrand of Live PD.

On Patrol: Live Recap for Saturday, August 29, 2026 (#OPL Episode 05-16)
- Berkeley County, S.C. — In the video clip below, Corporal Dylan Lee, with backup from Corporal Alex Hernandez, and another cop, initiates a traffic stop Two occupants. The driver is initially detained. On Patrol: Live caption: “Arrested on outstanding warrant.”
Cpl. Lee recap: “…stopped this car, registration — the tag was out of date by a lot of months. Made contact with the passenger who owns the car, and got the driver’s information, ran his information. He actually has a warrant through our agency for trafficking narcotics. So he’s gonna go to jail tonight as soon as our transport bus shows up.” On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “Reminder: If you have an outstanding warrant, make sure your tags are up to date.”
- Tempe, Ariz. — Officer Nick Christy makes contact with a man sitting on a bench for an unspecified reason. On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “It is hot there in Tempe: 105 degrees.”
- Baton Rouge, La. (pre-recorded segment) — In the video clip below, Officer Alandus Bickham and other units detain a man for allegedly stealing copper.
- Richland County, S.C. — Captain Danny Brown conducts a traffic stop and claims that the driver is “sweating up a storm.” He allegedly discovers ecstasy pills and a substance in a dollar bill that possibly might be fentanyl or meth. On Patrol: Live caption: “Testing for narcotics.”

- Triple Play #2 — a Santa N.M., police pursuit.
- Dorchester County, S.C. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of door banging.” Lieutenant Keith Hunt makes contact with a homeowner in connection with someone pounding on windows or doors. Lt. Hunt and other deputies search the perimeter of the property for any potential suspects. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Sounds like this may be the work of some juveniles…”
- Toledo, Ohio — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of naked person in the road.” Officers Dallas Kwapich and Eric Draper detain a female who was in the middle of the street in a downtown area. “Put your breast away, please…cover yourself up…” Bleeping.
Officer Draper: “She was out here…intoxicated and exposing herself. She had a couple of minor warrants that she’s gonna go to jail for today. And we’ll be on to the next one. Just another day in Toledo.”
#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “I guess this is breastfeeding without a child…the woman who was exposed right below a rooftop bar. They’ve been hooting and hollering as this has been going on.”
- Dorchester County, S.C. — Lt. Hunt and colleagues on a traffic stop. Two occupants. On Patrol: Live caption: “K9 alerted.” On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams update: “The guy was issued traffic citations, and the woman was released with no charges.”
- Baton Rouge, La. — Sergeant Jordon Lear, with Corporal Andrew Carlton as backup, initiates a friendly traffic top on a motor bike for no tail light and a partially obscured tag. When asked, the driver seems to indicate that he was doing wheelies earlier. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “It seems like the kind of situation that likely ends in a warning, and a reminder that there are certain rules of the road that everyone has to abide by.” Sgt. Lear fixes the light with “a double tap of love.” The cooperative driver is released with a warning.
Sgt. Lear recap: “So again, another person that’s got courtesy and cooperates with us. No ticket, and fxed the light for him with another little double tap, and he’ll be on his way.”
On Patrol: Live Hour 2
- Tempe, Ariz. — Officer Chris Heckel and the bike squad patrols the back-to-school ASU pub crawl (#OPLive returns to the event a few times during the episode), which is supposedly the largest bar crawl in the state. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Not surprising it needs a little bit of monitoring, and monitor they will.”
#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “It seems the bar crawl is accomplishing exactly what you’d expect…” #OPLive studio analyst Tom Rizzo: “At least they’re not crawling.” Abrams: “People hitting the bars, and coming out and almost giving their Social Security numbers on national TV. But I’m glad the guy walked up and said stop.” Rizzo: “And they want to know where to view the show.”

- Richland County, S.C. (pre-recorded segment) — Master Deputy Luke Martin conducts a jovial traffic stop for allegedly following too closely. #OPLive host Dan Abrams introduces the segment by quipping that the deputy “encountered an old ‘running buddy,’ and let’s just say they didn’t train together.” Suspended license. Deputy Martin: “I’m actually familiar with the front passenger. He was involved in a pursuit with me about a year ago now…” A licensed motorist is coming to the scene to drive the car.
- Toledo, Ohio — Officers Kwapich and Draper, along with Detectives Aaron Dudley and Steve Kucinski respond to a report of shooting. Subsequent information indicates that the caller’s car, not the caller himself, was shot at instead. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “If he’s driving around, I guess that’s a good sign.”

- Tempe, Ariz. — Officer Nick Christy makes contact with a male at a bus stop on what possibly might be a wellness check. Paramedics summoned to the scene.
- Triple Play #3 — An Arkansas State Police motorcycle pursuit.
- Dorchester County, S.C. — Lt. Hunt, with Corporal Sean Smiley, makes a traffic stop on a pickup truck. The driver denies having any drugs. Lt. Hunt claims he spotted some paraphernalia. Probable cause vehicle search. #OPLive host Dan Abrams update: The driver “who was squeezing the stress ball — he was released with no charges.”
- Baton Rouge, La. — Sgt. Lear assists other officers in detaining a male in a brief foot pursuit at an apartment complex after, according to #OPLive host Dan Abrams, a 911 call from a child about his mother being allegedly assaulted. Police separately detain another male on scene. Officer Christopher Coleman is among the cops responding. It’s unclear if either man is involved, however. Abrams: “This is a confusing, active situation where they’re trying to rely on people on the scene there to give them accurate information, but that’s not always easy…right now, all they’re doing is trying to figure out who’s who…they are not certain who they have and who’s responsible… “
Listen below to Sgt. Lear’s preliminary recap (“…I think it’s two separate things that got combined into one big cluster bomb”):
Sgt. Lear update: “Initially, we got sent to an apartment complex directly across the street for a domestic-type situation where a kid was calling and saying that a gentleman was beating a mother. When we go there, she told us that he had went to the apartment complex…currently wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. So we came around here. We initially didn’t see him, so I stopped in the roadway, started to look up a picture of him. While that’s going on, [other officers] — they smelled marijuana coming from a car, and when they approached the male, they saw a gun. And so they eventually tried to get him out. One of the males ended up fighting Officer Jones and running off, and we finally got our heads out of our backsides and came to join them. And the guy was running across, and we went to that side, set up a perimeter, and he popped right out basically where we were and was taken into custody. So while we were checking this car, we found some more IDs that were taken from victims of robberies, something that the gentleman that we caught that ran was already being looked at for. So he’s gonna go to jail tonight for the guns, the dope that he had on him, and the robbery charges are gonna be pending. We got to show the victims some lineups and stuff like that. But more than likely, he’s gonna get a lot more charges for robberies because it’s a lot of Hispanic-victim IDs in the car. So that about sums this up. There was a lot of people running in a lot of different directions to different calls, but we got him…the gentleman we caught in the front of the complex in the red shirt. He matched the description but was not involved in any type of way with any of these situations, so he was released with no charges.” #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “So that mostly explains what happened there and why it was confusing both for them and for us.”
- Richland County, S.C. — An unidentified female deputy makes contact with a homeowner on an apparently accidental panic alarm activation. Master Deputy Cordell Brown is also apparently on scene.
- Hazen, Ark. — In responding to a gun call in what seems to be a confusing and initially intense if not chaotic situation, Chief Bradley Taylor, with Officer Teddy Walker, takes down a male on scene outside a residence. Officer Colton Felts detains another man at the location. Chief Taylor, who is apparently familiar with the people on scene, subsequently issues a disorderly conduct ticket to a male because he alleged resisted.
Chief Taylor to the subject: “…you started acting a fool when you walked by. Yeah, I grabbed you when you do that. I’m not playing with you…you’re acting a fool. And I’m not fooling with you like that. I’m not playing with a gun. I’m going home to my kids. You know what I’m saying?…so you got to respect that…”
#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “So he’s getting a ticket but sounds like they thought he was the victim, according to Sugar, but he’s saying that didn’t happen.”
- Richland County, S.C. — On Patrol: Live caption: “In pursuit.” Captain Brown and other units engage in a high-speed chase. Stop sticks deployed by other deputies.
- Toledo, Ohio — On Patrol: Live captions: “Report of urination in progress,” “Urination investigation.” Officers Kwapich and Draper (who #OPLive host Dan Abrams quips are “getting all the ‘best’ calls”) make contact with a subject at 7-11. Bleeping. “You know they have a restroom you could probably use instead of using the floor…”
- Greene County, Mo. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Tracking motorcycles.” While monitoring a group of about 20 bikers for speeding or other potential infractions as part of the multi-agency Operation Safe Ride, Sergeant Paige Rippee, with other deputies as backup, initiates a friendly traffic stop on one of them, apparently for no plates. The cooperative operator is released with a warning to head home. Sgt. Rippee provides a recap of the stop in the video clip below. Sgt. Rippee also mentions parenthetically that police helicopters generally assist in monitoring motorcycle groups because chasing the choppers, when necessary, can put the public at risk.
- Missing segment — Baytown, Texas:
- Dorchester County, S.C. — Lt. Hunt backs up Corporal Barry Lowe on a chatty traffic stop (for an unspecified reason).
- Fullerton, Calif. — After a brief pursuit, Officer Jason Coleman detains a man in a shopping plaza who allegedly fled from other cops earlier. Officer Tyler Rodgers and Ricky Akles are also respond. Officer Coleman explains to the subject that “we’re investigating a potential assault and battery. You’re somebody that matches the description…” On Patrol: Live caption: “Suspect in custody.” In the video below, Officer Akles provides a recap:
- Tempe, Ariz. (pre-recorded segment) — In the above video clip, Officer Nick Havens and the bike squad conduct a traffic stop. They arrest a subject for alleged “exhibition of speed.”
