What’s the Story with Judge Andrew Napolitano of Fox News?

Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano went from a pro-Trump libertarian to a vocal Never Trumper who has criticized the president for “immoral” and “condemnable” conduct as portrayed in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report. With the ascendancy of the Murdoch bros, Fox News is moving liberal outside of prime time. Maybe the ex-judge changed his tune for a paycheck; in addition to several anchors on Fox, lots of Trump bashers who regularly appear CNN and MSNBC have done the same. It also wouldn’t be the first time since Donald Trump won the White House that a personal vendetta masquerades as news analysis, if not fake news. read more

Trump Disinvites Himself from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

U.S. President Donald Trump was voluntarily absent from the head table on Saturday night at the Washington Hilton Hotel ballroom. And you can add this to the list of Trump administration accomplishments: In removing himself from the guest list, the president rendered the so-called nerd prom — the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner– irrelevant by boycotting the “once ultra-trendy, star-studded” event for three consecutive years. read more

Turtleboy Sports and Online Free Speech

The irreverent Turtleboy Sports blog is definitely not for everyone. The muckraking, adult content is often vulgar, but its slick writers could even give the clever New York Post headline writers some pointers. The entertaining and provocative Massachusetts-based blog focuses mainly on municipal corruption, felonious activity, and welfare cheats rather than sports. No surprise that the blog has broken stories that initially escaped the notice of the mainstream media. Like it or agree with its content or not, the future of Turtleboy Sports, and its slightly toned down TB Daily News version, has emerged as an online free speech issue. read more

Jeff Bezos May Have to Write a Huge Check to His Wife and the Covington Kid

The accountant for billionaire Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man, likely will have a busy year. Bezos will probably have to split his massive fortune with his wife when they officially go their separate ways. His Post newspaper is now also facing a $250 million 38-page defamation lawsuit from Covington Catholic high school student Nicholas Sandmann for what his lawyers describe as “a modern-day form of McCarthyism” in connection with the paper’s coverage of the highly publicized incident at the Lincoln Memorial in January. On Friday night, hoping that no one was paying attention, the Post published an editor’s note about its coverage in what is often described generically as an under-the-radar document dump. read more

CBS News Correspondent Lara Logan Says Media Is 85 Percent Liberal

In comments that she quipped might constitute “professional suicide,” CBS News Foreign Correspondent, or more specifically ex-CBS News correspondent, Lara Logan told a podcaster that the media is mostly liberal, which should come as no surprise to anyone who is paying attention. It’s unusual, though, that someone employed in the mainstream media would admit to the rampant bias. According to Variety, Logan and CBS supposedly parted ways sometime last year, so maybe that has something to do with her candor. Logan did not mention that she was no longer employed by the network during the interview, however. See the video embedded below. read more

Fake News BuzzFeed and HuffPost Hit With Real Layoffs

News broke late last week that news outlets/clickbait mills BuzzFeed and HuffPost were laying off a large number of staffers. Being pink slipped is a very unpleasant experience, but journalists at liberal outlets seldom hesitate to try to get others fired (or worse) for politically incorrect transgressions that often turn out to be fake news. Admittedly, it’s tough times generally for digital publishers, with lesser-known online media outlets struggling to generate traffic and revenue as well. Moreover, the highly publicized round of job reductions at the aforementioned two online media companies was preceded by tweaks to censorship-loving Big Tech’s algorithms that undermined the market share of several conservative-leaning websites. read more
