On Patrol: Live Recap for August 7, 2026 (#OPL Episode 05-09)
- Toledo, Ohio — On Patrol: Live captions: “Report of Toledo steamer,” “Report of defecation in progress,” “Investigation of defecation.” In the video clip below, Officers Mike Gee and Chris Mulinix make contact with an animated male subject. Cops tell him to clean up the property and leave the area. On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams makes reference to the Harry Potter series.
- Greene County, Mo. — Detective Ed Vasey initiates a minibike stop for allegedly stopping in the middle of the road. Another deputy comes to the scene and administers field sobriety testing and a PBT. The subject, age 20, allegedly blows a .336. On Patrol: Live caption: “Arrested for underage DUI.” Paramedics summoned to the scene to check out the subject.
On Patrol Live host Dan Abrams: “Point 336. Now I will bet you there will be folks out there in OP Nation who may have a better memory than me. But as far as I recall, that may be the highest we have ever seen someone blow on this show. That is more than four times the legal limit.” On Patrol: Live studio analyst Sean Larkin: “That’s four times the legal limit for somebody over the age of 21, and he’s only 20, which is point 02 there. So this is what’s called an aggravated DUI; carries a heavier charge. I know in Oklahoma, if someone blows a point 3, we wait about 20 more minutes. We test them again. If they blow a point 3 or higher again, we take them to the hospital. They have to go there because of alcohol poisoning first before they go on to the the jail.”
- Baton Rouge, La. — Officer Christopher Coleman, with Corporals Terrance Smith and Jermaine Javius, on a friendly traffic stop allegedly for windshield tint. It’s unspecified as to whether the driver received a ticket or was just released with a warning.
- Baton Rouge, La. — In the video clips below, the above-referenced officers respond to a report of a shooting. A suspect allegedly foot bailed. Cops set up a perimeter in a residential neighborhood; K9 deployed. On Patrol: Live caption: “Searching for shooting suspect.” Police also search an abandoned car and clear a vacant home in the course of the search. The suspect is supposedly the alleged dog shooter from a previous #OPLive episode.
#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “So it appears this is the same incident that we covered a couple of weeks ago where a dog was shot, and they were looking for the person.”
- Tempe, Ariz. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of aggravated assault.” Officer Austin Johnson and several colleagues make contact with the victim and subsequently detain a possible suspect. Bleeping.

Officer Johnson incident recap: “The subject, one detained, is under the age of 21 in Arizona. He was found carrying a concealed weapon. He matched the description provided by our victim: A subject that just pistol-whipped him. So he’s gonna get arrested at the minimum for having a concealed weapon being under the age of 21. On top of that, he might also get arrested for the assault charges if our victim wants to take prosecution, and the video evidence from the store here corroborates what our victim is saying. Our victim didn’t have any injury, declined the fire department, so the subject’s gonna be going off to jail..”
- Richland County, S.C. — On Patrol: Live captions: “Report of shots fired,” “Investigating shots fired.” Corporal TJ Norton makes a traffic stop on a possible suspect vehicle but quickly determines that the vehicle is uninvolved. Cpl. Norton subsequent follow-up: “So we got a description [of the suspect] that ran from the location after the shots were fired. So we’re gonna try to get here and see if maybe we can set up a perimeter, see if maybe we can’t locate the gentleman.” Another deputy on scene finds about 17 shell casings in the roadway. Cpl. Norton update: “…gentleman ran in this direction, so we’re gonna go down this road here, around the area, and see if maybe we can’t locate the suspect. There’s a good chance he probably lives in this area. So we’re just gonna canvas this area, so maybe we can find somebody that looks like him.” Investigation continues.
On Patrol: Live Hour 2
- Fullerton, Calif. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of female passed out at golf course.” Officers Tyler Rodgers and Ricky Akles respond to the scene and get a ride on a golf cart to where the female subject appears to be sleeping and make contact with her.
Officer Akles incident recap: “Female was sleeping on the gold course. She wasn’t able to sit up or anything. She really couldn’t form a sentence. Said she was in Santa Anna. And so based on that, she really can’t care for her own safety, so we’re gonna arrest here, take her back to the jail, and release her when she sobers up. There’s a coyote probably about 10 or 15 yards away from her, so I don’t know if they’re preying on her or what, but that was a close one. Also, she’s lucky that no golf balls hit her. She was kind of, like, out of range, but if I was on the driving range, I might have hit her because I’m not that good. But she was also kind of, like, out of sight for the golfers on the driving range. She was kind of hidden so nobody really could see her. So I’m glad the pro shop called, and we’re able to kind of get her out of danger, and hopefully she’s sober up and know where’s she’s at next time we contact her.
#OPLive studio analyst Tom Morris, Jr.: “She’s lucky and unlucky. Lucky that the coyote did not attack her. Unlucky because she’s going to jail.” #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “That’s someone who was pretty incoherent there…so it sounds like she gets a ‘mulligan’ here, and she’ll be released as soon as she sobers up.”
Dan Abrams: “And there was a coyote nearby when she was passed out. That makes it even that much scarier.”
- Triple Play #1 — a Thurston County, Wash., motorcycle pursuit.
- Brookford, N.C. — On a traffic stop, Chief Will Armstrong politely issues a ticket for speeding as a “learning lesson” for the driver.

- Berkeley County, S.C. — Deputy Austin Longiellere and the Corporal Carrs on a moped stop. K9 Odin sniff; alleged K9 alert. Probable cause vehicle search. Drugs allegedly found; the driver is Mirandized and apparently arrested. Deputy Longiellerge to subject: “…I told you your behavior was raising suspicions towards us, right?…if you disagree with our findings, and our reasonable suspicion, based on taking with you, based off your behavior, and that’s something you can use to argue in court…” On Patrol: Live caption: “Truth or dairy.”
- Toledo, Ohio — On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of shooting.” Officers Gee and Mulinix, and Detectives Jeff Milum and Mychael McAnich head to the scene conduct a foot search in the area. Apparent blood spatter on ground and on a door of a residence. A potential victim is already in the hospital. On Patrol: Live caption: “Investigating shooting.” Detectives to take over the investigation.

- Triple Play #2 — a Dayton, Ohio, PD pursuit of a carjacked vehicle.
On Patrol: Live Hour 3
- Richland County, S.C. — Cpl. Norton and Sergeant Ethyn Perkins conduct a friendly traffic stop on two motorcycles. One or both operators get a ticket for allegedly lacking a motorcycle endorsement on his license. At least one speeding ticket issued. Cpl. Norton also issues a ticket for alleged simple possession of weed.
- Clayton County, Ga. — Deputy Edmond Jackson, with backup from Sergeant Rhine Horton, conducts a traffic stop and issues tickets for an alleged illegal U-turn and an improper lane change. Listen below as Sean Larkin in the On Patrol: Live studio reacts to the stop, particularly the driver’s possible initial reluctance to sign the tickets: “…you’re not admitting guilt…”
- Toledo, Ohio (pre-recorded segment) — Officers Kaleb Torbet and John Sawicki make contact with a 19-year-old “frequent flyer” female who, according to #OPLive host Dan Abrams, “had apparently been ‘grounded.'” Officer Torbet background information: “We dealt with her before. This individual likes to get really, really drunk, and when she does, she loses all her faculties and screams at the top of her lungs, rolls around on the ground, acts like this.” Officer Torbet: “You’re under arrest again. Congratulations.”

- Toledo, Oho — Officers Gee and Mulinix respond to a report of stabbing at a residence, but it turns out that after policer investigate, no actual stabbing occurred.

- Baton Rouge, La. — On Patrol: Live caption: “Street racing.” Officer Coleman conducts a traffic stop on a Corvette. Citation issued for alleged drag racing; car towed for an automatic 15-day hold. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “Rough day ‘on the track’ for that guy.”
- Tempe, Ariz. — In the video clip below, Officer Johnson responds on scene where a vehicle got stuck in a median. The driver passes FSTs conducted by another officer. Once the tow truck pulls the disabled car off the median, the driver will be on his way.

- BOLO segment — Seattle, Wash.
- Richland County, S.C. — Cpl. Norton pursues a car on the highway. “Let’s roll, baby!” Deputies may have lost sight of the subject vehicle, however.
- Dorchester County, S.C. — Deputy Lindsey Cummings on a traffic stop. Cpl. Barry Lowe and K9 Yoda on scene for a K9 sniff. No alert. The driver is released with a warning for an unspecified reason.
- Tempe, Ariz. — As the episode concludes, Officer Nick Prentice searches for a suspect who allegedly was firing a gun at cars.
