On Patrol: Live Recap for June 12, 2026 (#OPL Episode 04-85)

OPL stats 06_12_26
  • Greene County, Mo. — In the video clip below below, Detective Travis Sanders and Deputy Anthony Bolivar respond to a rollover accident. The fire department arrives on scene to extract the driver from the truck that had tipped over in a ditch. An ambulance is en route to the scene.

Deputy Bolivar preliminary assessment: “According to witnesses on scene, they said he was just driving westbound on U.S. 160. They said he wasn’t speeding, wasn’t doing anything; he kind of just veered off to the side of the road…they’re assuming it was probably the sun…there was no, like, suspicious driving beforehand, no aggressive driving…went to the grass and tipped over…”

Deputy Bolivar update: “In that search of his pants, they actually located a bubble pipe, so possibly it might end up being a DWI. State’s taking over the scene. They’re gonna take him to the hospital, do a blood draw on him, see if they locate anything in his system. They’ll have to submit it to the labs, get results. But they’re gonna take over the scene, and we’re gonna clear from here, and go back in service.” On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “Okay — so possible DWI now, based on that pipe that they found.”

  • Colton, Calif. — Officer Thomas Enriquez provides backup on a traffic stop. A female occupant who allegedly has a felony warrant is detained, but ends up getting released with a ticket. As #OPNation noted, the male occupant is very emotional. Dan Abrams: “True love.”

Officer Enriquez recap: “So speaking to the female passenger, she has a lot of pre-existing medical issues. To that point, she will be issued a citation, and she’s gonna be released from scene. That’ll do it.” #OPL host Dan Abrams to Tom Rizzo: “We heard she had a no-bail warrant, right? So how do they end up releasing someone in a situation like this?” Rizzo: “Different jurisdictions have different ways to do it. He mentioned calling the supervisor. A supervisor can authorize a new court appearance, and sort of like your guarantee that you’ll show up, a second chance at that. Others have to contact your court administrator, who can then authorize the person to be what we call released on their own recognizance as a promise to show up for court again. So it’s sort of like a second chance and to not be taken into custody on scene.”

  • Baton Rouge, La. — Chief TJ Morse and other officers conduct a bicycle stop on a man who is riding with, among other things, a flat-screen TV. On Patrol: Live caption: “Big screen and baby stroller.” Cops surmise that the man allegedly also has burglary tools. Chief Morse recites some rap lyrics from a notebook that they found. On Patrol: Live studio analyst Tom Rizzo: “You close your eyes. I thought it was Eminem.” On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “I don’t know if there was a lot of passion in that read.” The subject ends up arrested on a warrant.

Dan Abrams: “Could be sort of a homemade Peloton type of situation, right?…with the TV there to see the instruction…let’s be clear; he hasn’t done anything wrong as far as we know…he says he found it in the trash…”

Dan Abrams update: “…it turns out that guy had a warrant for failure to appear, so he was taken in for that warrant. And when asked what they wanted him to do with the bike and the TV and everything, he said ‘just get rid of it.” Tom Rizzo: “That’s what he was gonna do with it.”

  • Richland County, S.C. — Corporal TJ Norton, with Sergeant Garo Brown as backup, initiates a traffic stop for allegedly speeding on car that apparently didn’t pull over right away. Cpl. Norton: “Calm down; you’re talking too much.” Cpl. Norton claims he smells weed. The motorist, who insists “I don’t have no weed,” is subsequently released with a warning after a car search.

Abrams: “The only credible thing you can about being scared is there’s a police officer standing right next to him who’s 6’8,’ 320 pounds…”

Listen below to the corporal provide the motorist with a quick life lesson in the context of a traffic stop:

  • Greene County, Mo. — Det. Sanders makes contact with a man who was sleeping outside of a convenience store. The subject tells Det. Sanders that he’s “kind of resting” and that he drank “a little bit” today. The subject allegedly has a warrant. #OPL host Dan Abrams update: “He’s being arrested on the warrant.”

Dan Abrams: “I’ve heard rumors about Santa in the off season. I’ve never actually seen it…”

  • Toledo, Ohio — Officers Dallas Kwapich and Eric Draper briefly respond to a home where a man who called in about a national security issue apparently having to do with an employer. Officer Kwapich: “I don’t think that’s anything that we can help you with.” On Patrol: Live caption: “God bless America.” Officer Kwapich: “I’m not really sure what necessarily he’s looking for, but I think he’s gonna have to go a little bit above us to get it taken care of…I don’t even know what just happened…”

Abrams: “Well, the good news…is that now there is an official record of this, right?…he’s got a record, which is what he wanted to do. Guy just wanted to put it on the record. The record is now clear…and again, another sign of the risks of Airbnb…”

  • Knox County, Tenn. — Officers Dalton Swanger and Timothy Knight on a traffic stop. Two occupants who are apparently DoorDashers. Officer Swanger allegedly finds “four different types” of drugs, plus paraphernalia. Police arrest the male; the female is released with no charges. The car is towed. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “So the DoorDashing dreams cut short there for tonight.”

On Patrol: Live host Dan Abrams: “By the way, there was a DoorDash meal in the vehicle. So, someone’s out there wondering why you didn’t get a delivery, that’s the impact.” #OPLive studio analyst Curtis Wilson: “Bad rating.” Abrams: “Yeah; that’s gonna lead to a bad rating, at least.”

On Patrol: Live Hour 2

  • Baton Rouge, La. — Corporal Charleston Armstrong and other units pursue a fleeing car that allegedly was reported stolen. The driver and other occupants foot bail. On Patrol: Live caption: “Searching for fleeing suspect.” Cpl. Armstrong, Chief Morse, and other officers search for the suspect in the woods. K9 and drone deployed. The search is ongoing. Dan Abrams update: “They didn’t find any of them yet, but they are still gathering physical evidence there, and they’re hoping that they’ll be able to find them.”
  • Clayton County, Ga. (pre-recorded segment) — Deputy Shamari Davis and other units pursue a wrong-way driver in a very dangerous, high-speed chase. Police were on the lookout for the the suspect who allegedly had previously shot up his girlfriend’s house. Police detain the driver after a foot bail.

Listen below to Deputy Davis’ recap (“…today, he finally crossed into Clayton County, and that’s when he kind of messed around and found out…his reign of terror has come to where it end right here in Clayton County”) followed by some #OPLive studio commentary from Curtis Wilson and Tom Rizzo:

Deputy Devon Brown: “I’ve been looking for your ass for a week. I came in to work specifically to catch your ass tonight. I’m glad you came. Welcome to Clayton County.”

  • Clayton County, Ga. — Deputies Davis and Brown and other units pursue a motorcycle that is allegedly operating recklessly and at high speeds The driver is detained at gunpoint. On Patrol: Live caption: “Suspect in custody.” Heavy bleeping.

Listen below to recap from Deputies Brown and Davis (“…he put our lives in danger, he put the motoring community lives in danger….”) along with some #OPLive studio commentary from Tom Rizzo and Curtis Wilson:

  • Tempe, Ariz.On Patrol: Live caption: “Report of reckless driver.” Officer Nick Havens and Kolby Palmer conduct a traffic stop at a gas station after a call from a concerned citizen that “looks like maybe some people might be under the influence and driving with children in the vehicle.”

Officer Havens preliminary recap: “So right now, we’re out with a couple. They’re saying that they came from Maricopa to meet somebody to sell this vehicle, and they were taking the person on a test drive. The driver behind me saying that he just had gallbladder surgery, and then he’s having trouble walking. He’s denying having anything, any alcohol, or using any drugs. One of our traffic units is talking to him right now about maybe some medications he might be taking because of him just having surgery. It sounds about less than a week ago. And then we’re gonna do a welfare check on the child, make sure the child’s okay.”

Officer Havens update: “[Another officer] is just concluding the field sobriety tests. As this point, like, I haven’t communicated with him. I don’t know what he’s seeing. It appears that this gentleman is having some sort of issue, at least mobility-wise, because of the surgery. I don’t know if he’s impaired by maybe any of the prescriptions he’s taking at this time. And then as far as the female’s concerned, it sounds like she’s probably gonna end up being taken over to Glendale for the warrant that she has, unconfirmed yet, but we’re gonna find out.”

Officer Haven’s further update: “We got called out here to assist some patrol units and our traffic unit for a welfare check. Some callers believe that maybe the driver of this red Durango was impaired. We arrived after the initial responding units. One of our traffic units began questioning the driver who had recently had surgery. He conducted field sobriety test. During the field sobriety test, he developed probable cause for impaired driving. So the driver’s placed under arrest, transported to the jail where he’s being processed for DUI. The vehicle is being towed. A female passenger had a three-year-old son. We did a records check of her. She ended up having a warrant out of a city across the valley that ended up not being able to extradite the warrant due to them having some facility closures. She did admit that she had some drug paraphernalia, possibly some drugs, in her purse. She let the officers search her purse where the drug paraphernalia was found, very minor amount of drugs was recovered. So she’s not gonna be charged with possession of drugs. She is gonna be charged with the paraphernalia. And we released her with a citation instead of taking her to jail. We tried to arrange for her to get a ride. She’d rather take the bus with her son.”

#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “So clearly, some level of accommodation for the three year old, too, which has to be a factor here. And as you pointed out, Tom, they came from a distance, right?” #OPLive studio analyst Tom Rizzo: “Yeah; they came from a distance, but it’s not as easy to just have a family member or a friend to come take custody of the child.”

  • Greene County, Mo. — Det. Sanders pursues a minibike that “popped a wheelie going down the middle of the road right in front of me.” The bike, however, ultimately gets away from police.
  • Triple Play #1 — a police pursuit of a vehicle amidst the first-ever Jacksonville triathlon. Earlier, Abrams had promoed the footage by saying that “a Florida man tried to enter a triathlon, but on four wheels instead of two.”

On Patrol: Live Hour 3

  • Clayton County, Ga. — Deputy Davis makes a traffic stop for alleged reckless driving. The motorist, age 18, is released with a “stern talking to.”

Listen below to Deputy Davis admonish the young man about ramifications of unsafe driving (#OPLive host Dan Abrams: “so that guy’s just getting a warning…a long warning…but a warning nonetheless…”):

  • Knox County, Tenn. (pre-recorded segment) — In the video clip below, Officer Devon Wirtley and other units respond to a trailer park where a male has allegedly barricaded himself in a room in a trailer. Cops with a K9 enter the trailer and arrest the subject.

Abrams: “The one thing we know for certain is what kind of shirts this guy typically wears based on the tan line we saw there.” Rizzo: “Suns out, guns out.”

  • Knox County, Tenn. — Officer Swanger makes contact with two occupants of a vehicle. Language barrier. Officer Swanger and the male driver try to communicate with translation apps on their respective phones. The female occupant seems to speak English to some extent. On Patrol: Live caption: “Looking for someone to talk to.” Officer Swanger tries to identify the female with an ID or otherwise: “…you just look very young, and I just want to make sure that you’re an adult, and I don’t know anything about Vietnamese identification.”

Abrams: “So the cliffhanger here is gonna be what is he gonna say in response to the question of ‘what are you doing out here so late?’ And that’s what we’re waiting to find out.”

  • Toledo, Ohio — Detectives Steve Kucinski and Ryan Klump backup other officers on a traffic stop. Four occupants. Bleeping. K9 sniff/alert. Car search. No drugs found. The occupants are likely released. Listen below to Det, Kucinski’s preliminary recap:

Abrams: “Apparently, Planet Fitness was deciding between Tom Rizzo and that guy to be the spokesperson…”

  • Greene County, Mo. (pre-recorded segment) — In the video clip below, Corporal Reyne Wallace conducts a traffic stop on a vehicle with no plate and with severe rear-end damage. Car search. The cooperative driver ends up getting arrested for alleged DUI.
  • Baton Rouge, La. — Officer Armstrong on a traffic stop with Officer Caruntal Harrell as backup. Bleeping. Officer Armstrong allegedly find a gun on the male passenger’s person. The gun is allegedly stolen. The passenger is arrested (see video clip below). Abrams: “As always, wants to call mom. See it all the time.” The female driver is released.

Listen below to Officer Armstrong’s preliminary recap of the stop:

  • Tempe, Ariz. — Sergeant Andres Molina conducts a friendly traffic stop for a suspended license plate.
  • Missing segment — Springfield, Ohio (per the video clip below):
  • Richland County, S.C.On Patrol: Live caption: “Investigating fire.” As the show concludes in the video clip below, Sgt. Brown and Cpl. Norton make contact with bicyclist in connection with this incident. #OPLive host Dan Abrams: “We’ll get an update on who this guy is, what he knows, tomorrow on First Shift…”
