Has Even Fox News Turned Against the 2024 Hopeful?
The corporate media has devoted a lot of bandwidth to a discussion about how Murdoch-owned news media channels have supposedly turned against former U.S. President Donald Trump, an already announced 2024 candidate for his old job.
For example, shortly after the GOP’s underperformance in the 2022 midterm elections, liberal bastion Vanity Fair published an article called “Rupert Murdoch Knees Trump in the Balls While He’s Doubled Over Coughing Up Blood.”
The article’s subtitle was “The message from the Murdoch-owned New York Post, Wall Street Journal, and Fox News is clear: Pack your bags, bitch. You’re done.”
Credit where credit is due, this kind of ‘journalism’ is an attention grabber, otherwise known as click bait.
“In fact, it appears that an unofficial memo has gone out to Murdoch-owned properties that the ex-president is only to be referred to as a has-been loser who, at this point, couldn’t win an election for deputy director of the Mar-a-Lago Parks and Recreation Department,” Vanity Fair claimed.
Whether you like Trump or not, and the mainstream liberal media is obviously part of the “not” contingent, globalist gaslighting explains some of this coverage, though.
Apart from Democrat-aligned news organizations, various other conservative media outlets have adopted an anti-Trump vibe. if they weren’t there already.
Thus, the negativity in the 2024 campaign — sometimes known as Trump derangement syndrome — could be off the charts.
In an ideal world, media outlets need not necessarily line up behind a particular candidate or ideology unless they make their intentions evident rather than adopt pretend objectivity.
In the 2022’s election immediate aftermath, Trump took to Truth Social with his usual grandiosity that is a turnoff to some voters to claim that Fox News was “always gone.”
See update below.
Media Narrative
In a takedown of former House Speaker and GOP establishmentarian Paul Ryan who is now on the board of Fox Corp, populist Revolver News wondered the following:
“Might Ryan’s presence at Fox play at least some role in the network’s de facto blackout of Trump and his new presidential run? Could it be fueling the ‘blame Trump’ narrative that Fox has favored to explain the midterm results?”
The Post is probably the best and most entertaining newspaper in America and has done really solid work investigating Biden scandals. And it’s headline writers are genius.
Why not unleash its journalists to look into, rather than disregard or downplay, allegations of voting irregularities in both 2020 and 2022?
In particular, that includes the wide-ranging impact on the results of mail-in ballots handed out like Halloween candy with no chain of custody or even minimal signature checks after they arrive, along with ballot harvesting of same by very crafty and well-organized Democrat operatives that seems to have rendered on-the-ground campaigning and debates irrelevant.
The 2022 election day chaos in Maricopa County, Ariz., was inexcusable.
While the corporate media and much of the political elite take the position that no “widespread” fraud occurred in Election 2020 (or 2022 for that matter), whatever that means, Tucker Carlson appears to be the only pundit under the Fox News banner who is still willing to even allude to a “rigged” election.
Recall that the Fox News premature call of Arizona for Joe Biden in 2020 also had profound implications.
Regardless of political affiliations, Americans — including Trump — have a First Amendment right to peacefully and legally question election outcomes and champion election integrity. For partisan or other reasons, the court system generally views these challenges, however, as too hot to handle.
Democrats have hardly been shy about casting doubt on the vote in past election cycles.
Has the establishment taken the position that the real crime is challenging election hocus-pocus?
Borrowing a famous line from the cult film Fight Club, maybe the first rule of voter fraud is you do not talk about voter fraud?
Capitol Punishment
Separately, may have also noticed the assembly line, conveyor-belt process of how liberal D.C. juries are rendering guilty verdicts for J6 trespassers and vandals.
No sensible person has ever condoned the behavior of those who breached the Capitol. Many of them received disproportionate sentences with some still held in pre-trial detention after all this time, raising significant due process issues. The alleged role of government instigators also needs to be probed.
Much has also been made of a two-tiered system of justice weaponized by politics.
Prosecutors, moreover, didn’t even charge many of the anarchists who burned American cities during the summer of 2020.
Reacting to the current riots in Atlanta carried out by what he described as an “armed militia,” Carlson contrasted that to the Democrat political establishment’s obsession with gun control.
But they’re telling you the ‘real’ threat is rural voters with AR-15s, assault weapons. ‘You must disarm,’ Republican voters. No thanks. Disarm? Why don’t you go ahead and disband Antifa? Go full RICO on them. Lets find out who their leaders are. Let’s see them in jail. Then maybe you can tackle street crime and then pay a ‘little bit’ of attention to the drug cartels that control the southwestern United States, and then maybe at that point you’ll convince some people to register their AR-15s. But until you do that, up yours…”
“In any case, it remains to be seen just how long the Murdoch empire’s new anti-Trump stance lasts…it’s all but certain that they‘ll line up to support Trump should he win the 2024 GOP nomination,” Vanity Fair concluded in a hint to the transactional nature of politics and media.
In the meantime, emerging reports suggest that Trump could supposedly be headed back to Twitter, leaving the viability of Truth Social in doubt.
Update: Trump has intensified his criticism of Fox News in describing the channel as “FoxFakeNews.”
